Anything you can do in order to continue your conspiracy campaign against Romo, cj?

First it's golf, now Brandstater is the man.

When will it stop, joe?

huh CowboyMcCoy, im soley just was interested in the player because cowboys were said to be looking at him and liking him, i only want a decent backup to replace kitna in a few years; but i like nicholls better, but i ran across an article where cowboys had been interested in him, so i was asking what you thought about him or mcgee,

i just dont know too much about him, but i do nicholls

i think kitna is 38 now; but not totally sure;

this is the first player i have asked if we should look at this year, that was released;

I'm not gonna waste time to research it but, NO, it's not... I read this board daily and that just isn't true. You do great work and provide excellent info and I as others truely appreciate it. But, you're always asking if we should add this or that released player..

i sure dont remember asking about adding any player this year, i could have, but i dont remember it, maybe im having one of those senior moments

i know i asked about a lot of players last year, but this is the first player i think i asked about on solely if any of you knew anything about him

I was just playing into the board drama. I know I shouldn't do that but my impulses get the best of me.

I really don't like what we have going on at back up right now. I just don't like it, joe. I really liked Kitna when he played. I thought he always played on a bad team... but he's 38 and I fear he may have B.J. syndrome. That's right. You're familiar with Brad Johnson syndrome, where your arm resembles a wet noodle and your wheels are rusty and squeaky. At this point, Kitna may need a walker.

Behind him is McNeil. I'm not sure I like him much. He's an Aggie and he reminds me of Quincy Carter without the hype. Just a fast guy with athleticism.... I'm afraid he doesn't have it upstairs. But that's just from what I gather from what I've seen and read. I'm not sure what the fascination is/was with McNeil.

I do know one thing. One player I don't want to lose is Romo. I don't think we've addressed the back up spot there as well as we could have. From what I've seen Kitna has lost some accuracy. But with our weapons, you never know, joe. A true Dallas Cowboy fans never says die.

oh ok, yeah, sometimes things just go over my head, and i miss it,

i understand what your saying about kitna, he scares me just alittle, but i think we will be ok with him this year, his arm was alot stronger when he first started out, but brad johnson never really had a big time arm to begin with,

i think we will be ok, this year on backup qb, but we need to groom one soon for next year, i really do like nicholls, i think he has long range potential for 4 years or so down the road, just needs alot of tutoring and developing

exactly do i learned that old saying, its aint over till the fat lady sings, i was at the cowboys Commanders game when roger staubach got knocked out, the game was almost over and duane thomas was about to score, i jumped up and hollered kill him, caught myself and felt about about it, so thinking game was over i started walking out, i got outside the tunnel where you come in to your seats, and i heard yelling, i ran back in and saw drew pearson celebrating in the endzone, boy did i ever learn then, its aint over till the fat lady sings and like you said; A true Dallas Cowboy fans never says die

Cowboy Joe - keep posting what you want. If the others don't like it, too bad. No one is forcing them to read it.

It isn't a normal day at the zone unless we've got one of Joe's "What do you think, Zoners?" threads. I've been missing them. He's right, he hasn't done one in a while.

Do your thing, Joe.

I didnt see this anywhere, but with the broncos releasing QB Brandaster, should the cowboys look at him. The Cowboys actually liked him during the draft, but as most of you know, the cowboys selected stephen mcgee.

I think were ok with nicholls on the team as a sleeper qb, i really like him too.

Just take alittle more time for McGee to get into rhythm and flow of the game.

but what do you think about tom brandaster?

I read the thread title and said, "who?" And as far as the other posts go, my own opinion, (no more fact than yours) is that if McGee had played for Pete Carroll, he'd have been a first round draft choice. After his third year in the league, McGee will be a very marketable player. Most of us remember the "cut Romo" stuff from a few years ago, and those were based upon nothing more than something that somebody said or read. I've seen McGee play in pressure situations. He'll be very good in this league. Unfortunately, considering Romo's age, it will probably be for somebody else.

Everything thing I've read has said the Cowboys haven't been happy with how he's progressed. Now it has all been second hand information so it may not be true, but it still makes me leery about him. I hope he pans out and provides a good backup to Romo though that can eventually be traded for future picks, but I have my doubts.

I really liked him when he came out. Put him in a few mock drafts for us. I liked his potential. He's quite an athlete with a good arm.

But we drafted that type of player, and arguably a better athlete with a better arm in McGee. So there's just no interest on my part anymore.

I don't think Nicols is any slouch himself.

but what do you think about tom brandaster?

We have our veteran backup in Kitna, and we have a developmental guy in McGee that we liked better than Brandaster all along, so where would Branaster fit? Are we looking to fill the waterboy position?

I think Brandstater has the chance to become a legit starter in the league, wasn't a few months ago people talking that he may take the job from Orton?

That's the problem with "people" saying it, and the team sayinh it. Fans ramblings are unreliable. Besides, I suspect anyone saying it was more frustrated with Orton than actually high on Brandaster.

Honestly I havent seen anything about that, where did you "hear" this from?

His only drawback so far was getting hurt and missing alot of potential reps last preseason.

Just a sentence about him every now and then that says the Cowboys aren't impressed with his progression. I don't even remember where all I've heard it to be honest. It was also not directly from people that work for the Cowboys so it may not even be true. I have heard it a couple of times though.

well thought he did too so i went back about 15 pages to look and so far the closest you can get is his posting an article about the Rams safety and hell, who hasn't? so no, he's not.

i did notice around page 8 he went a complete page w/o starting a thread, so i hope he wasn't out sick or anything. : )
