That's not quite right. I don't think it has the inner genetics of the HIV virus. I suspect it uses the outer shell of the HIV virus to gain access to lymphocytes. Then it probably is delivering some sort of genetic therapy that kills the lymphocytes with leukemia but spares the healthy lymphocytes.

I wish we could make Natural Killer cells that could just attack any and all cancerous cells.

The problem with Natural Killer cells is that they have a limited ability to recognize invaders. Thus they aren't useful against cancer cells which are basically part of yourself gone awry.
