I'll get this out of the way first: I believe that Tony Sparano will be the next head coach of the Miami Dolphins. But to follow on Todd's post, which says it's not over yet, I'd take you back a year to the Steelers coaching search.
In that case, then-Pittsburgh offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt and line coach Russ Grimm were considered the only thoroughbreds in a two-horse race. Then-Vikings defensive coordinator Mike Tomlin was supposedly brought in to satisify the Rooney Rule.
What happened? Tomlin blew the Steelers away. And Whisenhunt and Grimm were off to Arizona. Not saying that's going to happen again, but I'd say that until the interviews are complete, you can't rule out someone else coming in and stamping himself the right man for the job.

I believe the whole process of interviewing other candidates is a sham and always has been. Just like the Vice President of Football Operations" title meant Parcells was going to let Ireland handle everything football related.
I believe he probably accepted the job, of course "after all the post season and interviews are done." Wink wink.
I believe he will be their next Head Coach and that nothing about the under the table offer and acceptance will ever be done.
I believe he'll do a pretty good job for Parcells in Miami and deserves a chance to have this job.

The bottom line is that this guys who are leaving us are doing it because they want to and/or because Jerrah is allowing it to happen. They are the only ones to blame. Had any of them wanted to stay in Dallas and Jerrah wanted them to remain working for the Cowboys, they'd still be Dallas Cowboys' employees today. Tuna is doing what any other CEO would do, and that is get the best talent he'd feel comfortable working with. He's not putting a gun to their heads, he's not holding their families hostage, he's not blackmailing them into taking the jobs.
If they want to go, fine, best of luck and see y'all down the road. If they're going because Jerrah doesn't think they're important enough to do everything posible to keep them, short of turning over ownership of the franchise, then he'll live with the consequences. Either way, the franchise will survive, just like it survived the end of greatness ( Tom Landry ), the departure of tremendous accomplishments ( Jimmah Johnson ), and the conclusion of rebirth ( Tuna ).
