Give King credit for something most refused to believe last year.

King insisted there was a very real possibility that Romo would start at QB before the year was out.

A lot, and I mean A LOT, of people refused to believe that and insisted that inserting Romo would mean giving up on the season. They remained insistent even when Bill made the move that night against the Giants.

King was dead-on about the pending move to Romo when it was very unpopular to take that position.

I hope he's wrong about our season's fate for 2007 though.

That wasn't exactly guesswork, though... King came out with that statement after spending a half-hour or so sitdown with Parcells at training camp. ;)

When you watch the 86 Giants America's Game and see Parcells saying happily, "Where's Peter King?" right after they'd won the Superbowl, you realize what a big FOB King really is.

There seem to be a lot of "if"s, "think"s, "expect"s, and "hopes" in King's analysis. It's great that they count for so much in his rankings.

That's all he ever has to go by since he spends all of his time at the buffet counter instead of actually watching the games.

Call it a prediction, good research, or right connections. Either way it entitles King to some kudo's imo.

I figured as much when King is involved. The only reason we were ranked so high last year is Peter loves to pump Parcells up big-time. This way he gets his interviews when nobody else can.

Just listen to him talk about Parcells. He is goo-goo and gah over the man from the opening line.

Get off the jock already Pete.

Well, you knew King would drop us after Parcells left.

Last year with Drew Bledsoe he had us in the Super Bowl. This year with a much better QB, he has us seventh in the conference. It's not hard to see the reason why.

My instant reaction as well.

With BP we woulda been ranked top 5 but this guy has no clue how to be impartial.

detroit and pitt? wow!

Been arguing with my friends about this as well. I dont know why everyone thinks kitna sucks so badly, I think he is pretty solid and would put him about somewhere in the middle of the league if I was giving QB ratings. I think they may give chicago a run for their money in a weak division.

Kitna is a top-notch fantasy QB this season:

Manning
Palmer
Brees
Brady
Vick
Bulger
McNabb
Kitna

I will forever remember the Sports Illustrated commercials in the summer of 1992. While trying to sell subscriptions to their magazine they promoted their football prediction issue and Peter King came on talking about Dallas was going to be the team to beat. Dallas was getting some credit at the time, but I saw very few experts pick them as the favorites to win it all.

Fantasy football does not count interceptions. Kitna had a big year with over 4000 yards last year to go along with 21 TDs. That will do well in fantasy leagues. It doesn't count the 22 INTs he threw last year, which was the second most to Big Ben's 23 in the NFL.

That's fine with me. Throw Dallas in the middle of the pack with little to no reason as of why. The Cowboys will just have to show everyone how good they can be. And I believe that this team could be really good this year.

Screw Fantasy Football. I've never been a big fan of it in the first place. While Kitna may be a nice pick up for all of the fantasy football gurus of this world, why would Peter King-ding-a-ling put Detroit ahead of Dallas? Is it because they won a shootout at Texas Stadium late in the season last year while our defense had that "deer-in-the-headlight" look?

That's still not enough reason.

Yeah he did... I'd rather this young team fly under the radar anyway, less pressure!

Too much hype for young team may not be good & so it is OK to be rated as middle of the pack and by performing consistent emerging as a front runner will be the best way going forward

When he had us in Superbowl , we didn't win the playoff game. So ,naturally we'll go to superbowl when he has rated us in the middle. :laugh2:

Go cowboys !

Detroit will step it up in Martz year 2. They have sick receivers. This is a team I predict will be vastly improved. Key is getting their defense to step up.

Granted, it's a big step.

Fantasy football most certainly DOES count INT's. At least the league I play in does. It's minus 2 points which is the equivalnet of losing 40 yards in passing. It's a huge stat in my league.
