Saw an interesting stat that I was never aware of. The Cowboys held the record of most consecutive years of 11 or more wins (from 1976-1981). Unfortunately the Colts just broke it.

In 1975 they actually had a winning percentage better than an 11-5 would be, since they won 10 in a 14 game season. And in 1982 they won 6 games in a 9 game season and could have easily ended up with 11 had it been a full season. The first two years of the Cowboys streak were 14-game seasons. So their streak is more impressive than the Colts in my opinion (granted the Colts streak could extend). But it is what it is and they technically dont hold that record any longer. Oh well. :(

I think the stat showed that the Cowboys had 2 streaks of 11 wins or more. 76-81 and 91-95.

No one will come close to our 20 straight years of winning seasons. I am as proud of that as I am the Super Bowls.

49ers had 16 straight until 99. I was getting nervous back then.

The 20 straight winning seasons is one of the most impressive records in the NFL. I'm pretty happy to say that I don't believe we'll ever see another team do that.

Wow,

If the Cowboys had 6 straight 11 game winning seasons and had only won 1 Super Bowl I can't imagine the heat the Cowboys QB would be getting!

I was talking about Peyton Manning, not Roger Staubach. I guess the Cowboys went to 3 SB's during that period and only won 1.

Obviously, Jackie Smith cost us one of those and some other crazy plays but if Romo had 6 - 11 straight winning seasons and had only 1 SB to show for it, I can't imagine the heat he would have!

If not for that strike year, Dallas would have extended the record.

That is interesting.
Reminds me of Joe DiMaggio's 56 game hitting streak that I believe was broken up on a great play. He went on to hit in another 25 games or so right after the streak was broken.

Curious? What would the streak have been sans the strike year?

In 1983 we went 12-4.

So, 76-81 and 83 would equal six sans the strike year.

Not bad.
