Stephen “Birth Certificate” Jones has started this week once again revealing his arrogance, stupidity and lifelong sense of entitlement with his comments today about the team taking the off-season approach of being “selectively aggressive”. (Translation: 1. We don’t know what we’re doing and 2. We think the fans will “get over” their frustrations when we blow more smoke about what we “might do”.

Here’s a walk down a decade long memory lane of a few of SJ’s most stupid or arrogant quotes with links to the original stories. Each link is prefaced by an SJ actual quote.
This is a very incomplete and short list. It could include many more examples of the arrogance, stupidity and entitlement of Stephen Jones. There isn’t a team in professional football that would hire this guy.

Nepotism is just another fatal flaw this team has.

Someone should ask him about that 2016 statement and why he sounds so different now. Now he air-quotes the drought and talks about how much success we've had lately.

"Of course," Jones responded. "I mean, I'm worried every day that we don't get a championship. You worry about that all the time. That's why we're very aggressive in trying to get there. It's just not acceptable in our minds that we haven't been able to win a championship in so long. I do worry about that. I worry about that all the time.

"I worry about that with older fans, that they finally say, 'We're done.' That's why we try to do everything we can to show respect to our fans, to do things that I think are good things that our fans think are good things for our team. But at the end of the day, as I said, it's all about the game and it's all about winning a championship, and we got to get that done."

Voch Lombardi made a great video last night about Stephen's comments yesterday at the combine!

“There are always extenuating circumstances to these things."
"I don’t necessarily know that there’s a lot of extenuating situations out there "

"web-back"

"blinking lights"

"that poor ol' safety position keeps getting slighted"

those 3 are still my all-time favorites.
i forgot about "24/7" regarding player acquisitions....so make it my 4 all-time favs.

I like the 2013 one: Jerry’s going to lead us to a championship sooner or later

Well now we all know it’s later. Not sooner.
Yep. And that “Jerry’s going to lead us to a championship” comment was uttered almost exactly 12 years ago.

There’s only one owner in sports that would put up with this kind of consistent underachievement.

Jebus Bob. That is nothing but a beat down.

Wow! Did you plagiarize this? I hope you did, quite an obsession if you didn't. Lol...
BTW, my dad is back home and doing a bit better. My brother is coming in from Italy for a couple of days. Thanks for asking...

One of his dumbest quotes was during a radio interview a few years ago when he was told about the negative comments Troy Aikman made about the offense, primarily the play calling. Stephen’s response was that anyone can play armchair QB. I guess he forgot Aikman was a HOF QB.

On the lack of playoff success….

“Sometimes that oblong ball doesn’t bounce the right way.”

Yeah, that’s what it is.

“The biggest thing- with free agency, I just don’t think you can make a living there. That’s what we’ve always said. I think you’re overpaying in free agency most of the time.”

Has he looked at what he pays to keep his own free agents?

Not too many aren't overpaid lol. Outside of Tyron Smith taking an under market deal, the rest of the "core" have been big FA market deals. Outside of Zach Martin and Travis till his sudden retirement most never came close to living up to those numbers.

Same team that gave Jaylon Smith a top 5 year deal while still being a RFA, and of course his whole leg issue.
I can't tell if he's BSing to BS or he actually believes what he says.
