A source with knowledge of the situation tells USA Today the Commanders are going to "make a push" for free agent CB Aqib Talib.

The Commanders have one of the league's worst cap situations, but a major need at cornerback after cutting DeAngelo Hall. Washington was 30th in pass defense last season. GM Bruce Allen drafted Talib in Tampa, while DBs coach Raheem Morris was his head coach. Making a long-term commitment to a player with Talib's off-field history would be a huge risk for a team in Washington's financial position, but prudence and patience have never been owner Dan Snyder's virtues. The more things change in D.C., the more they stay the same.
