Ithink you are confusing Love with our inability to grasp just how stupid Danny boi is.. everytime we think he can't do anything more stupid,, he does.. we are just amazed how this guy can walk upright by himself.. if thats love.. then ya welcome home boy.

Yep, offseason champs, yet again (too bad there is no trophy for that).

Oh wait... the Skins couldn't even win the offseason title this year. This year it belongs to the Browns.

The browns have done good, no doubt,, but JJ hasn't showed his cards yet.. lets wait and see before we hand out any awards. ;)

*sigh*

You completely missed the point of my post.

My point:

What is done in Free Agency is irrelevant. How often is it that the team that makes a huge splash in Free Agency actually goes on to win the superbowl?

How many offseasons (over the past 5-7 years) have the skins been the biggest splash maker? At least 3-4 times, right? And how many superbowls have they won in that time? Hell, they've only made the playoffs once (in that time) and have only won one playoff game.

Point is WHO CARES WHO SPENDS THE MOST MONEY ON FREE AGENTS? It's not gonna win you a superbowl.

Superbowl caliber teams are built through the draft, and by paying your OWN "superstars" to stay. The cowboys went through cap hell about the same time they had given up 2 first round picks. THAT is why we were in a hole for so long. We've come out of that hole now, and we did it through the draft, and by signing solid FAs (not superstars). Hell, the best FA we've had in the last 7 years was La'Roi Glover, and he didn't cost us much.

About the time we get to the point where we're having to pay big money to our own draft picks (Roy and T-New for example), that is about the time we'll be superbowl contenders.

If the only response we have to the Skins signing players who make them a better team is to say they overspent and cap hell is coming, it's pretty sad.

No one here knows the first thing about being a gm in the NFL, including me. When we say they overspent, we don't know what the heck we're talking about, and we have no idea what their extended salary scale looks like throughout those contracts...it seems petty to me.

The Skins have greatly improved over having Taylor Jacobs and James Thrash as their only options opposite Santana Moss who proved to be one of the top acquisitions in football last season.

We just have to live with it...the idea is to also improve our team...so far we have improved the interior line, imo. Parcells had no interest in either of those WRs...he's not going to bring in anyone unless he thinks he's better than Key or Glenn...he has no interest in any of the DEs who will make the Skins much better on defense either because we don't use that type of DE anymore.

We'll make our moves to sign the guys we want/need for our offense/defense. If those guys don't have the big names, so be it. I have never liked Parcells and have been open about it, but it cracks me up when you guys who love him and want to give him the benefit of the doubt with every foolish move during the season (Trust in Bill), find it hard to trust that he's doing exactly what he wants to do in FA.

We simply look silly trying to tell Skins fans that they are blowing it in FA when they sign good players or even role players....just say we'll see who has the better team and coach in the fall...just my opinion.

You obviously didn't read my post cuz I didn't mention anything about the Skins overspending or the possibility of cap hell in the forseable future.

So overspending or cap hell were not the only responses.

My post, since I didn't quote anyone, was in response to the original thread.

So they improved their WR core somewhat. Big deal. And they overspent to do it. Typical skins.

In case you missed the intent of the thread, it was along the lines of a joke. But that being said, one does not have to be a GM to know that when you pay someone that is mid level top level money (Randel El) then you over paid. I am not a car manufacture either, but I know an Escort is not worth 40K even spread out over 7 years.
