you don't think MBIII is a very, similar player?

If he was a Steven Jackson, he should be the starter, without question. He has Steven Jackson qualities, but he is not a Steven Jackson, yet.

Hey now, the Skins are the team to beat in 2007. Brian Baldinger said so.

Taylor had a really bad game today.

Stephen Jackson, on the other hand, had another banner day.

252 all purpose yards and 2 TD's.

150 rushing w/TD and 102 receiving w/TD.

yeah, he also fumbled late in the game to set up a Skins FG and then meekly went down on a 3rd and inches run short of a first down late

Even the fattest person on this forum would be able to run for 100 yards behind the Commanders offensive line. Betts is good but he has the luxury of playing with a QB who forces teams to back off safeties. Portis hasn't had that with Brunell in his two seasons here.

I have to tell this to my buddies who seem to not understand football very well on a weekly basis.

You seriously think Betts is better than Portis?

He didn't say were the team to beat. Stop twisting the article. He said we will be very good which is not far fetched. We've had our share of injuries and bad luck this year. We could have been 8-7 easily right now had we put in Campbell earlier and signed Suisham earlier.

You're 2-3 with Campbell right now and you've played:

Carolina (at FedEx)
Philadelphia (at FedEx)
St. Louis
New Orleans
Tampa Bay

Not to mention you have the oldest roster in the NFL.

Color me unimpressed.

the record doesnt accurately show how we have been playing, and you know it. With the exception of the Tampa game, we have been playing very good football. Regardless of the outcome, we have been playing well for the most part.

Within those games, we showed signs of life, and looked like a possible contender. Even though those performances haven't been put together yet, Baldinger said he see's signs that this team COULD be good next year.

I wish we could find that Prisco thread.

Who was that Commanders fan that was telling me he highly doubted Taylor got burned as much as Roy?

Its seriously a weekly thing on how much Taylor gets burned.

that would be me. Let's just say that Taylor did absolutly NOTHING to help my cause. Let's just say, foot correctly inserted in mouth.

The Skins didn't play well against the Rams, unless you call giving up 579 yards of offense and 38 points as "good football." The same could be said for the Philadelphia and Atlanta games (where you had a 14-0 lead and stunk the rest of the way) and you had the advantage of playing at home. That's 3 out of 5 games that the Skins didn't play very well in with 4 games against mediocre teams.

is that not what I said? The skins showed SIGNS of improving. We have established a GREAT running game, the defense showed signs of life in a couple games, (Saints, Carolina, Philly). It's not like we have been playing completly horrible over this stretch. Games like the Saints game just shows what this team is capable. With a solid running game, anything is possible.

Either you're saying they are playing well or they aren't. I don't read double speak very well. For the Skins to make the playoffs next year, there will be a ton of things that will have to happen and a ton of changes that need to be made. But to claim that the Skins are looking like a playoff team now has me asking Baldinger to put the crack pipe down.

I disagree. For the Skins to be good next season, they need to NOT make a ton of changes. Like they do every off-season. The defense needs work, leave the offense alone.

We need a 2 linebackers, a strong safety, and a DE. That is alot of fill in one off-season, and most likely, it won't happen. Yet there are very few defenses in this league that have solid contributors in every position. Getting just half of that would do this defense a great service.

The offense is fine. Portis has never played with Campbell behind center, and the difference in defensive playcalling since Campbell became starter shows he'd be doing even better than Betts. The offensive line is set, I think Dockery will be re-signed. Continuity in this playbook, as well as Campbell getting more comfortable with the pro game is all they need. With the NFC as weak as it is, that should be enough for a team to compete for the playoffs.

I whole heartly believe that this defense could move up at LEAST 10 spots under the scoring and yardage rankings with 1 more good OLB......We played better when LaVar was hurt last season at LB than we do now and they have a year under their belts......I don't get it.....
