It took a bunch of being tardy and 3 missed meetings for them to do anything? And we wonder why this organization is a joke?
And he's clearly the worst RB on the team. Nobody else wanted to sign him but Jerry was hoping for some more jersey sales and TV time.

:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: I get the feeling that this is the beginning seasonal meltdown

So he’s the pos teammate he’s always been in spite of all the insistence here and the media. And overrated. Henry would have taken 2k behind those lines. Demarco Murray would have had 1800.

So sick of this dude
This is so out of character for zeke; all of this. Going to Jerry, missing meetings, throwing tantrums.
only thing I can think of is that he wants to be cut and why would he?
disagree he was always him and his stupid feed me nonsense. Total front runner imho

I've been saying Zeke is a result of the problems all season......not the problem. Jerry had no reason to bring him back. For whatever reasons or frustrations........now he has been disclosed as one of the problems. And for whatever reason or frustration, can't defend him any kind of way for this. "You have to be professional even in an unprofessional environment". Thanks Zeke for the early years.......no thanks now. Time to cut bait. This team is unfolding in front of our very eyes. Hard Knocks on the way for next season.
Seems like Zeke has been trying to get cut for a few weeks now. I thought something was up when we had that game when Dowdle started and Deuce was the first sub. There was a lot of information in that action right there. I cannot defend conduct detrimental to the team though. You show up for work and give it everything you have. For his sake I hope they release him so he can go try and latch onto a team that sees the value in what he brings. This is no way for him to go out.

and we wonder why this team is so undisciplened, this was Jerry's boy. "trying to see what he can do!" he said. and when the coach can't dole out punishment, this is what happens and it spreads to the team.
he should have been disciplined the second time he did something. and these three are this week, and I wonder what about other weeks!!!

like I said, this team is just going through the motions of a season...in two weeks they will all be checking out. the coaches have already checked out.
I think your right, The mental mistakes yesterday speak to no one locked in from Coaches to players....missed assignments all over...too many men in the huddle and such on the coaches side its a full 100% all in dive job...

What does he bring? Broken down body? Bad attitude? Selfish all about me? If he was auditioning for another team, he didn't perform very well

We don't know what was said or done to him to get him to this point. All we know is that he started the first game, ran for a decent average and a TD, and got benched as his reward. For a player or any stature that crap stings and starts making you give your coaches side eye. I don't know how much Zeke has left in his body.. but there is no argument to be made that the Cowboys have been wasting it. Take it from someone who has stood on the sidelines and watched lesser players start while the team wins and while they lose. You stay quiet and be a good soldier when the team is winning. But when the team is losing it gets harder and harder .. Again not justifying unprofessional behavior.. just stating that I understand.

Couldn't agree more RonnieT24. I've liked Zeke over the years, and often wondered, a few years ago.....why is a franchise continually running it's RB1 further in the ground, with a 2-year bothersome knee issue, and a young Pollard was on the sidelines. I've seen footage of Zeke being a good teammate also during the Pollard maturation.

With the latest, it's time to cut bait., and I'm not sure if he'd get a deal now that the narrative is out. No fathomable reason for Zeke to do that if Derrick Henry is on the team or even Pollard. No reason for Cook to be on this team, if the aforementioned. Franchise created this problem, and Zeke made himself a problem, as a result. No offense to Rico, it is what it is.

We're in for some tough times......the creation of this roster leaves bafflement. This ain't the USFL. And the board may lose a Fall Guy soon, but still enough to go around.

Well, we do know he missed meetings, and was late for others in the least. What exactly did you exact out of him this year to say the Cowboys wasted him? Game 1 he had 10/40 or a 4 yard average against an awful Browns team, and followed that up with a 6/16 performance. I guess on a solid team, Zeke has a role, but clearly, stuff has happened here to fall him out of favour. No surprise of course

For me it felt as if Elliott was serious about winning in college, he did, and the NFL was just a playground for him once he got there.

Some may not agree, I know he has fans, especially the ones that sprung for that jersey….but fact is the guy has Hall of Fame talent, and ain’t going.

Ezekiel Elliott is a much more talented football player than Emmitt Smith. Priorities were just a little different. That’ll do it.

“I want to see what Zeke Elliott can do as RB1.”

Well Jerry, you’re seeing it.

I would never have taken him back. Having said that, he should have been cut after missing the first meeting. He’s a turd.

I guarantee you that his agent has already fielded "are they going to release him?" calls today. In the right situation Zeke can get the job done. The Cowboys aint the right situation for him because he has proven he can't really be effective coming off the bench nor can he thrive getting 2-3 carries a quarter. Some guys just aint built for that, physically or mentally. Workhorse backs spend their whole lives taking some carries to figure a defense out, soften them up, see which lineman is owning his guy and getting his own juices flowing. Backups just come in and run every play 100 mph. What we have learned is that Zeke is NOT the latter. And it's too bad. I had hoped he could pivot his mindset to the change up role but he couldn't. But if he can't he can't. I've said it about a dozen times already. If we're not going to use him then we should cut him. The current situation is wasting a roster spot.

So prior to Atlanta,.. dead last in the league run game, and no RB over 13 yards longest run...but CLEARLY worst RB on the team.

Here's more of the problem than zeke. Detroit and a TD:

And here's a brick wall for 2:
