Slay is why you let Byron walk

One great DB is worthless if the other team just avoids them and picks on the weaker links. I would rather have 4-5 “C” players in the secondary than one “A” and a bunch of F’s

the intent (of any team) is not to have just one high level CB. just because Filthy has issues doesn't change the fact that pairing a Byron or Slay with a Diggs is a good start to making life rough on opposing passers.

Gotta say, I don't really agree with the idea of having 5 middle of the road players, as opposed to keeping one shutdown DB. I mean, if you have one guy who can take out the biggest WR weapon another team has, that's the foundation for a really strong Defense IMO. If you have that guy, then it makes everything else on Defense so much easier.

Ehhh, sometimes it doesn't work out. I'd rather have Diggs and Byron as my starting corners. Then you don't have to make CB a priority in 2021 draft. Diggs, training daily with his brother, this offseason has the potential to be very good going forward. Chido probably gone unless he's back on a team friendly deal. I think Lewis has earned an extension but that's it. Going into the offseason, Diggs is your only sure thing and that isn't good.

We would probably be better off on defense by bringing back Chido and Lewis for cheap and drafting a defensive tackle/linebacker in the first two rounds then a cornerback and safety as the first two picks. See what beating the Eagles does to us fans.

I said it in the offseason...I don't see Slay much but when I do....he's just the best corner on his team. He's not a shut down guy. Hell didn't we beat up the Lions last year with him out there?

He's not a "shut down" the side of the field guy. Eagles are going to put him on whoever the best guy. What happened was Cowboys had 3 guys out there and he couldn't guard them all. Good guy and like the player but he's basically Brandon Carr or Anthony Henry. He's a notch below the best in the league.

Killing it lol. He's getting torched. He just got the luxury here of never covering the #1 receiver of the other team and he played next to garbage in this secondary.

Now there is an actual elite player in their secondary and hes getting thrown at. Told everyone in 2015 he was a combine warrior and would be average at best

The rules are such that DBs have virtually no chance.

That's why I dont like taking corners very high in the draft or signing them to big contracts.

Even the best of the best are going to get beat....and often.

I still keep 31 every time. That's fine about slay and 1 game. but have you seen our corners ALL year
