This guy maybe small school but he is a monster. 6ft-217 lbs ran a 4.55 forty,16 lifts of 225 lbs and a 37 1/2 vertical leap at his pro day. . 3rd All Time in NCAA in tackles. Over 500 tackles in his career
If he is available in the low rounds I would grab him
Those small school guys can easily deceive you.
AOA looked amazing in highlights but in the NFL they knew there was a problem after just a few practices.
Ken Bishop was on the Cowboys roster for a couple of years. In college he had games where he was one of the most dominant players that I've ever seen at any level. He would run straight to the QB with 2 or 3 small college OLinemen trying to block him. I literally don't think he could run any faster is they just didn't block him at all.
It really hard to evaluate positions like Safety. At DE, NFL teams can dig through the competition to see if that player faced any legit competition and then focus on evaluating him against that better competition. Some small schools will play bigger schools on occasion which is one way to find better film to evaluate. For a Safety, it's difficult because it's hard to evaluate 1-on-1 match-ups even if you find some better individual competition.
It kind of funny that only the top players go to the combine, because those players genereally already have film against high level competition. Measurable(s) are even more important for the small school guys because it's a way to measure them against the big school guys. All-Star games are another source of info. Small school guys really need to show up if they get to go to an All-Star game.
