Small Part Of Greg's Comments

I was watching NFL live and they had a small piece of audio from Greg's comments on Roy. Something he said, something small and lost in all that other stuff he said.

Just a couple of words and thats it.

He said "Training camp". When talking about Roy saying the defense didn't fit him, he said "in training camp".

Don't know how many realize it but training camp hasn't started yet. That means, it was almost a year ago that Roy said that. That means it was before the season, not after. Also means that it was when he had his 1st taste of Wade's system.

And it also means, and here is an important one, that he didn't say it as some sort of excuse for his performance last season like so many posters have claimed.

Does it make a difference? Maybe it does, maybe it doesn't but I would like to hear what some of the media, Micky included have to say about it now that they have basically accused him of finding all sorts of excuses for his poor play last year.

Excellent point. It's been pointed out before, but ignored of course.

On the flip side, Roy also said in his most recent interview on Irvin's show that he still needs to get used to Wade's defense.

Happened last year but now, via his new boyfriend Ellis, he wants to reiterate how uncomfortable, overall, he is in Dallas?

Something is screwy here. Either they ware working in tandem or Ellis is an incredible blabbermouth loose canonball.

Two issues bug me most about the whole ordeal:

1) Roy Williams needing a specific defense to be a good player.

2) Greg Ellis running his mouth to the media (yet again).

I thought the attack style D was best suited for Roy--why is this a bad fit?

It sounds like he was using it as an excuse before the season started. This style D was supposed to fit Roy perfectly, allowing him to play to his strengths. Finding out that this statement was made even before they started makes it sound like Roy has given up.
