I think that she is the original Lana. The show keeps hinting that she came back changed, but I'm leaning to the explanation being that her time with Lex corrupted her somewhat. So much so that she will eventually be confronted with a crisis involving Kal-El (I like saying that instead of Clark
: ) that will either destroy their relationship or get her killed. If either happens, I expect it will be the trigger to both Kal-El's and Luthor's final transformations as superhero/supervillain archenemies. JMO.
