My iPhone stands up to a beating much better than the Blackberry, and I put them both through a beating. I've dropped my iPhone countless times and no cracks on the screen. The material is harder and more scratch resistant from a chemical makeup standpoint than the Blackberry. Also, the businessman comment is ridiculous. I'd much prefer if my employer allowed me to use the iPhone on their system. It'd be great to get rid of the Blackberry, which I find useless for anything other than checking my work e-mail. But even the iPhone handles e-mails better; you can view word and excel documents MUUUUUUCH better. Almost any possible "business" use is better on the iPhone.

But after taxes, etc., you're paying closer to $100 for the cheapest possible plan.

My wife pays it, though she said we pay $80 something a month. I will find out the exact amount.

Not sure why.
Because they do..

I like mine...and I know a whole lot of people who like theirs too.

It's all personal preference, anyway.

For one, I know a lot of people hate all touch screens. I used to dislike it until I played with it more. Sometimes, business people have to type out emails really fast which is easier with physical keys.

No offense, WG, but you completely missed the point of my question. I was asking why "business people" in general would prefer a Blackberry to an iPhone, not any person in particular. That's a generalization often used and I don't understand why.

I can understand the touchscreen argument. Some people just can't get the hang of it. I can type faster on my iPhone than my Blackberry, though. Still, the readability of excel, pdf, and word files should make the iPhone significantly more useful to "business people." When I get a pdf or word file on my Bberry and I'm away from a computer, I'll e-mail it to my iPhone and view it.

Why would I be offended? It's ok to disagree.

But I didn't miss the point. I consider myself a business person just as much as anyone, which is why I responded.

I have an old touchscreen pocket PC as well as a blackberry. I use both regularly and I find my blackberry easier to use. It's a personal preference. Just like you prefer the iPhone for the reasons you stated. This isn't rocket science here.

You pay $80 total per month for two cell phones both with data plans?

I call BS. That has to be $80 per phone. We have two iPhones with data, etc., and we pay about $150 per month total.

tmob is pretty cheap i had a bill for 60$ for unlimited texts/nights/weekends/data and ruffly 600 minutes

I have a blackberry for work and an iphone for personal. There's really no comparison. The blackberry feels like a 1980s PC compared to the iphone.

My stepdad (an senor IT manager) does that as well.

Again, I meant, why would "business people" as a group generally tend to prefer it? Of course there may be individuals such as yourself that are "business people" that prefer it, but I don't get the comment that "business people" as a group would tend to prefer the Blackberry.

I just got my iphone last week. Holy crap, how I have lived without one up till now I have no idea. Loving the XM/Sirius Mobile and mlb.com At-Bat apps.

"Business" people as a group seem to prefer blackberry because it's the smartphone that most IT departments support.

I'm enjoying my iPhone quite a bit. It is going to be very nice for Fantasy Football this year.

I'm late to the party...

My wife and I both have Iphones. She has my old 3G and I just picked up a 3GS.

I'm pretty much a power user when it comes to smartphones - I do everything with my phone.

I haven't found anything my Iphone can't do yet.

I haven't tried it yet or had the occasion arise, but the one drawback I hear about is the lack of multitasking. Apparently it won't do that at all.

As an added benefit Sunday Ticket subscribers with the SuperFan package can have the ganes streamed to their iphone.

That sealed the deal for me.
