smething is eating my hard drive space up

sorry about OUtlook but that is all I have known. What should I use? Yahoo? Hotmail? I don't know.

anyway. I have deleted until my hands are tired and I still have not increased the free space.

Can you delete the files automatically thru the Tree program or do you have do go thru OUtlook?

You had better be careful if you're arbitrarily deleting files. You could do serious damage to your system. (ie make it unbootable, wreck some application you use, or cause major errors in Windows)

having a little better luck. After deleteing about 3000 emails with attachments I ran the CCleaner again and I am up to 13% free. That is the only thing I am deleting. Seems to be working.

I did not realize how many I had. There are close to 10,000 emails with major report PDF attachements in almost all of them but did not realize that the C drive counted those.

Everythign else so far seems to be working ok.

thanks for all of your help.....

Did you also go into your deleted folder of outlook express and delete those again?

Also next time you can highlight one email in your deleted folder then hold your control button and hit the letter A...this will highlight all of them and you can then hit your delete button to save time of deleting each individual email.

I have an option of 'empty deleted' items which selected all and automatically deleted them. It took forever tho. It was wierd tho. I deleted all of them manually but it still would not show where the space was increased. I then went into the Tree program which for some reason still showed them as taking up space. I deleted the sent items, inbox items and deletedd items in those correspoding folders in both email accounts and then I ran the CCleaner program again. It was then I finally got some relief. I am @ 50% free now so happy with that.

Thanks again to everyone.

I've seen a virus do this...continually to fill up your hard drive. Might want to run extra virus tests to be sure. Try Malwarebytes...pretty good program.

Are you using an anti-virus program that has a data back-up feature? If so, it could be backing up your data on your existing hard drive. This happened to me one time. It will almost instantly fill up your drive. Turn off that "feature", or have it back up data to an external drive.
