Lots of smoke screens going on with teams that want to trade down. All of a sudden, the 13 top defensive players will be gone before pick 12 and the cowboys need to trade up to secure their guy

The last two weeks before the draft there is literally enough smoke generated to cover half the planet.
Its finding where the real fire is under it that is the tricky part

Who do you think is going to be there at 12? No one is talking about the top 13 defensive players being gone by 12. It’s the handful of elite defensive players people are talking about.

I see scenarios where Bain, Downs, or Styles are still on the board at 12. If they are all gone then I can see someone trading up to get an early lead on the offensive run that will happen for the next 8-10 picks. Both scenarios are better than trading up and out of the first with the 20th.

It sounds like Bain is out of consideration. Downs and Styles will be gone. Faulk, Messidor or Hood are the likely picks if they stay at 12. Maybe they will be able to trade back. Maybe not. Either way they will likely be picking a player they don’t even have a first rd grade on.
