Nick Hayden 51
Jeremy Mincey 50

DeMarcus Lawrence 26

Jack Crawford 23
Jeff Heath 10
C.J. Spillman 9
Kyle Wilber 6

Interesting that Hitchens had the most snaps of the LBs with 10 more than McClain.

Melton continues to have a low snap count.

Nick Hayden is playing way too much and had the most snaps of any DLineman. I assume that is partially due to the 4th DT, Jack Crawford getting injured.

DLaw had a low snap count. He had over 40 in the Jags game.

With the injury to Crawford either McClain or Brent are active for Thursday.

Hitchens is really giving us some quality snaps and is looking more like a steal with each game.

Someday, fans will accept that the Cowboys actually like Hayden. Someday.

Melton's low snap count is the most interesting thing for me, because he's been effective in spots but you don't pay a guy with 31 snaps in a game like that, 9mil to keep him.

Some of that could be because of the hurry up by NY.

How on Earth does Dunbar only get two snaps? Two touches is one thing...but 2 snaps?

Hitchens proving his worth. Not only has he been effective and is smart and versatile enough to play all 3 LB spots but he has been a workhorse. What a great draft pick.

I believe I read an article were Marinelli said based on his experience with Melton, he thinks the idea snap count for Melton is around 30. He's been true to his word.

I would agree with @TheCount that it would be difficult to justify paying him 9M next season if his snap count is always going to be in the low thirties.

I'm sure Melton isn't happy with his snap count since he has sack incentives in his contract.

One of the local reporters opined the opposite. He says he thinks they're doing him a favor by keeping him rested and only playing him in passing situations. In theory that should lead to more sacks.

I did hear Melton say that he knows he is best with limited snaps.

Well I hope he knows that he's not worth 9mil a year then and is willing to resign at a more reasonable price.

He gives us a ton in those 30 snaps though

Yes, but if a guy like Suh plays 50 snaps then he is worth 15M if Melton is worth 9M (Suh = 50/30 * Melton). You would get a bargain to sign Suh for 12M.

I counted three impact plays with Lawrence and one where he really showed his athleticism. That Pressure he got at the end of the third quarter could have saved a TD.

I would prefer that we limited him to around 40. I might be wrong, but I don't think that would break him.

Yeah Lawrence had a nice TFL in the 3rd (I believe). Hope he plays more but looks like he has having trouble detaching from blockers during pass rush opportunities. Still like his raw talent and hope it is more speed/strength of the game that he is adjusting to.

He's done more than I expected to. We have to remember this is first real experience against NFL players in a game situation.
