Some interesting snap tidbits from Sunday’s game vs lions:
  • Tony Pollard had 41 snaps and Zeke had 31 of a total of 63 snaps. First time I remember Pollard getting more snaps.
  • Rookie WR Jalen Tolbert had 1 snap on offense. At least he’s on the game roster.
  • Rookie CB Deron Bland had 7 snaps; Kelvin Joseph had zero snaps. Will be interesting to see who gets more playing time with Jourdan Lewis out for the season.
  • Rookie DE Sam Williams only had 14 snaps but wow did he make them count. He had 3 solo tackles (2 of them TFL), 2 sacks and a forced fumble. He is earning more PT.
  • Trysten Hill had 17 snaps but did not register a single tackle.
What else stood out?

The Cowboys went big boy defense with this game. Hooker had less snaps then Kearse/Wilson while LVE and Barr played almost all of the snaps. Also the defensive tackles received more snaps then Williams and Gholston. I expect more of the same against Chicago. I just can’t imagine them throwing the football over 10 times against us especially if they are winning or the game is close.

I dont know the numbers off the top of head, but the sack to snap ratio for Fowler and Williams has to be insane this year

Shultz getting almost as many as the other 2 TE combined - that's probably why our run game struggled!

If Bland has more than Joseph then you know Joseph is another 2nd round bust (ex. Hill).

Wasn’t Damone Clark activated? Can’t wait to see him get some snaps.
Activated. But not on the active roster yet.

His window closes tomorrow as his 3 week window opened on the 5th.

I imagine he will take Farnioks spot. Gallimore could go to the IR and they call up Watkins. They will use the PS call ups for Lindstrom or Shepley

Thanks for the clarification brother. It’s unfortunate but it looks as though Cox is the odd man out. His game was coming along nicely last year until the injury.
Maybe next year he’ll get his chance.

They're not putting him in, they obviously don't like something he's doing
When your 2nd round pick is in his second year and only playing ST snaps, something doesn’t add up. It’s not too late but KJ has to be on bust watch. 2nd rounders have to contribute more than just STs.

When Diggs missed some snaps in another game it was Joseph that replaced him.

Coaches like for young CBs to only focus on outside or inside CB. It was that way with Scandrick back in his first year or two. Wade Phillips said Scandrick and Jenkins were even in the competition at outside CB but Jenkins got the nod because they wanted Scandrick to focus on playing inside (Nickel CB).

Trysten hill is so freakin bad. Schultz should be getting less snaps then ferguson. Sam williams is a really good player. No reason he shouldnt be taking snaps from dorance who has one of the lowest pass rush win rate % on the team.

I am excited to see Bland get some time in the slot. I also am worried that if Anthony Brown looks this bad and joseph cant take any snaps from him

I thought they'd put in Joseph after the injury to Lewis, they need to release him and call it a day

He is making plays in on special teams. He may be one of their top special teams players.

I think they see him as an outside CB, not a slot corner. That's why Bland replaces Lewis. If Brown of Diggs goes down Joseph will go in for them.
