Always interesting to look at snap counts each week. A lot of this, especially on defense, is determined by the opponent and their style of offense.

Here are some interesting snap counts that stood out:
OFFENSE
  • Terrance Steele- all 62 snaps. And he played very well.
  • Dalton Schultz had 45 of the 62 snaps. Blake Jarwin had 29 snaps.
  • Tony Pollard had 140 total yards on just 21 snaps.
DEFENSE
  • There were only two defensive players who played all 71 snaps- Trayvon Diggs and Anthony Brown.
  • Jayron Kearse had 69 snaps- that 97%
  • This is surprising-Jaylon Smith had 54 snaps compared to Micah Parsons’ 39. Parsons was only on the field 55% of the time.
Thoughts?

Didn't realize we didn't score a TD after the first quarter.

If I knew that in advance, I'd have bet the deed to my house on LA.

Good to see our starters playing most snaps. Hope to get the O-Line some help and give players like Tyron a few snaps per game off.

Expect Jaylon to play a lot Monday night also. As Neal may be out. Maybe Jabril Cox will see his first NFL action also.
With Neal out I expect LVE to get those snaps. May see some of Cox finally as well.
Jaylon is probably playing about 55 snaps again.

Bohanna played 20 snaps (28%) of the defensive plays and had no stats. No tackles. No assists.

I know he is supposed to occupy blockers. Anyone hone in on him and see how he did?

I am guessing Hamilton is called up from the PS this week with Watkins out. Hamilton did outplay Bohanna in camp in my opinion. Interested in seeing what Hamilton can do if called up.

Looking at the last 2 games snap counts I see a trend at TE many didn’t expect

Starting OL never get snaps off. Why on earth would you take out Tyron Smith for a few snaps and potentially leave Dak's blindside in the hands of a much lesser player coming in cold off the bench?

Would like to see a scenario we are far enough ahead to have Dak smiling on the sidelines and giving our starters a rest and giving these young ones a shot at game time snaps.

Well you're going to need a new starting QB then.

I was wondering the same thing. Great question.

I'm guessing Parsons got some rest because he was playing defensive end for the first time in awhile and when he was on the field he was probably using a lot more energy rushing the passer every play, as opposed to linebacker, where every play isn't 100%. I could be wrong..
