Some tidbits that stand out…
  • Zeke had 45 snaps compared to Pollard’s 28. Seems like that should have been reversed.
  • Cowboys and Saints both had 70 snaps.
  • DeMarcus Lawrence had 37 snaps. That should increase as he gets in better game shape.
  • Dorance Armstrong had 53 snaps- he’s earning more playing time.
  • Carlos Watkins only had 28 snaps but one included his “Thick Six”.

Well maybe Pollard can put up those runs because Zeke's still carrying the major workload? But okay that should be put to the test one time.

Offense time was evenly split. That amazing run from Pollard (two guys were close to him behind the line of scrimmage, showed some true evading skills) saved the game for us. Passing game couldn't do crap.

I really think Lawrence had a good first game after his return. He was right on the QB so many times, got in the way of passes... good starting point.

Can't say anything about Watkins.

Additional notes:

The refs had more bad calls against NO than us this time.

We were lucky their A offense wasn't on the field.

Gallup could make a catch count on a nails head.

Dak sucked. No, I'm not a hater, I do think he's a good QB and can take us to a superbowl. But Thursday was atrocious.

Once again Cowboys fans made themselves heard in an away stadium. Coooop. Nice.

Loved DC's energy on the sideline. He has a great way with his guys and they want to make him proud it seems. He really is the "strange uncle" (quote Micah), but in a good way.

Troy had some good analysis. Best color commentator imo.

All in all a game where alot of guys did a really nice job. The passing game was out of town once more despite some nice catches by Gallup and two really spot on throws to Lamb. And that has to be fixed before the play offs. Doesn't have to be 30+ points all the time, but all those 3 and outs and horrible passes to nowhere are a major concern. Vs. Arizona everyone has to be on board, that will be a good test. The Defense gave them the ball back early three times and they couldn't do anything with it. So in the end a D line man had to do the job himself to put the game away. Always love it when the big guys run for their life and score. Awesome but lol.

And yes a win is a win. I know.

It shouldn't be about Zeke.

Pollard passes the eyeball test for me. Speed, contact balance, and he looks more powerful than the last two years. He needs to be on the field.

Some really good stats to keep accounting for. Nice add here.

Come the end of season, whenever that occurs, these stats say a lot as to the future and team building strengths!

Golston with 42. The most impressive thing I've noticed about him and Odighizuwa besides their ability to defeat blocks is that they don't get pushed back, even with double teams. And they're only rookies.
I’ve been impressed with those guys too. Both continue to improve and still have big upside in their future. They may never be stars but really solid players.

You're easily impressed, Robert.

Golston has suited up and played. Best I can say about him.

In fairness to him he had no training camp or preseason.

I can't shake the feeling his ceiling is Tyrone Crawford though.
That wouldn’t be all bad if Golston (unlike Crawford) could stay healthy. IMO, Crawford was definitely a decent player, he just couldn’t stay healthy long enough to be reliable.

Is Hooker hurt also? I know Wilson is. Hopefully he is back next game.
I think Hooker is fine and I'm all for seeing more of him and Kearse playing to be honest. Kazee has cost us big time, against the Raiders, Patriots, and Panthers he played especially bad. I'm curious to see his grade so far for the season.

Agree
I think Kearse and Hooker can be our safety combo next year
