Don’t disagree with you Blue. But his paycheck is what makes him a starter. And I’m not joking at all. Our owner hates to pay guys and not play them. So Wilson will be out there. He’s certainly been inconsistent and I’m not sure we have a ton of coverage talent behind him.
i'm sorry man i don't care what he makes$$. it's not like he's lamb or Prescott this dude needs wake up benching maybe not all year but sit and think about impoving ..we have Thomas and or Bell ... Dono is a straight liability right now, but maybe its just me..

Not just in coverage, his missed tackles and penalty's etc...

I agree. But tell Jerry that. He always uses the philosophy “pay equals play”. In other words if you’re getting paid, you will be playing no matter wHo may be behind you who may be better.

Grandad Schoonmaker needs to be traded for some DE help. Turpin is a better player than Cooks. Guyton needs to spend some time on the sidelines. He's not ready. Reserving judgment on Oruwariye. But he's long and looked the part.
I said before the season that Luepke was going to end up getting more snaps than Schoonmaker. Some scoffed at that, but he deserves it for sure.

Turpin shows the burst that Cooks used to have. I like him operating out of the slot when we go three wide. We'll get a few more games to see how effective he and Tolbert can be as the 2-3 before Cooks gets back. Hopefully, youth will prevail because Cooks clearly has lost a step.

I agree on Guyton. He may grow into a great left tackle, but he's not there yet and for the sake of this season, we may be better off with Smith there and Bass at left guard. Depending on how it played out, we could even consider shifting Guyton back to right tackle since Steele has shortcomings as a pass blocker.

I dont truly believe in this in this case, jerrys meddling. i realize some of you think that..... If Zim went to jerry and Mike and wanted change IMO he gets it. like you said maybe MZ believes in spite of the negatives he's the best SS we have,.... Zekes jerry guy hardly playing, Lamb hardly getting any 2nd half targets this year, big money there.. Im betting Tobert might keep that #2 spot when BC comes back, money be dammed LOL

He did start. He played all 58 snaps on defense.
OK ....just curious
Is he now a regular starter or just starting for an injured player?
Either way, he is quickly becoming my favorite defensive player........his talent is obvious but I love his passion.

yeah, but Schoonmaker is playing solid football, as a matter of fact that bad draft IE fan feedback with Overshown, Mazi, Schoon and wasn't Tolbert part of that draft? hinorbale mentions asim richards and Jbrooks

they are starting to show enough not to be labeled a bad draft IMHO

Cowboys find a way to win another ugly but meaningful game…A win is a win.
Here are the snap counts from the game. Some things that stood out:
  • This was a game where many of the young and new Cowboys played very well.
  • The Cowboys had 76 snaps to the Steelers 58.
  • DeMarvion Overshown played all 58 defensive snaps and was all over the field making plays.
  • Jalen Tolbert had an excellent game, caught the game winning TD, and played 68 snaps, 2 more than Lamb.
  • The new corner Oruwarlye also played all 58 defensive snaps.
  • Tyler Smith is to be commended for playing 53 snaps at LT when Guyton went down and 23 snaps at LG. His versatility has been critical.
What else?

Every win is beautiful...

Golston had 52 snaps on defense. With only Wheat, Lawson and Golston healthy at DE, I suspect he will be seeing that many snaps every game.
Golston had literally the best game of his career.

What if someone told you 18 hours ago that Dallas would win only if Golston and Wheat had excellent games, and Lawson would step up (even if he got a recovered fumble stolen from him by a QB at the bottom of a pile).

What a nutty league and anyone that ever wagers on any of it deserves what they lose. It’s getting to where theres no such thing as knowing anything.

I was pleased with Wheat, he came in and did a solid job.

This line of thinking is a big reason there has been no change in almost 30 years. There are many fans like yourself that cannot fathom lesser players would be denied a chance because the player in front of them makes more money. But Jerry has ALWAYS operated that way, people just have not paid attention. I remember Zeke was out there on one leg and Jerry said Zeke would continue to carry his normal load, even though Pollard was clearly the best option at the time. And it was simply because Zeke held out for an extension and Jerry was going to make him EARN it....no matter if he was on one leg or not. Not matter if it was hurting the team. This is not speculation. Jerry said out of his mouth he expects Zeke to carry the load. We found out after the season Zeke was playing with a torn PCL!!!!!!!

Why would a coach even have to go to an Owner to make that request? Unbelievable.

Trading a player because "he sucks" doesn't exactly inspire a trade partner's best offer.
