Snap Counts Week 2

Those snaps on the dline are going up with JM out this week
Lawrence will be in the 90% range now

Cory White only has 4 defensive snaps this year

I think that says more about Jones then it does White

I did not.

No…what was it?

Byron Maxwell: 'You're a human being, you get tired'

http://www.csnphilly.com/football-philadelphia-eagles/byron-maxwell-youre-human-being-you-get-tired

When it’s Matt Ryan beating you deep to Julio Jones, that’s one thing.

This?

This was Brandon Weeden to Terrance Williams.

One week after his opening-day disaster against the Falcons, Byron Maxwell struck again.

With the Cowboys leading the Eagles by 10 Sunday and 5½ minutes left in the game, Weeden — in the game in place ofinjured Tony Romo — beat Maxwell for a dagger 42-yard touchdown pass to Williams on a 3rd-and-11.

Yes, the Brandon Weeden who has won five of 21 career starts. Yes, the Brandon Weeden who has the third-worst passer rating among active quarterbacks. Yes, the Brandon Weeden who three years ago on opening day got picked off four times by the Eagles.

Him.

After the Cowboys finished off their 20-10 win over the Eagles at the Linc (see Instant Replay), Maxwell was asked about the embarrassing play, which came on the Cowboys’ 68th offensive snap of the game.

And standing in the same locker at the Linc that Nnamdi Asomugha and Cary Williams once occupied, he said this:

“He just got inside of me. We were on the field all day, he got inside of me, I couldn’t really explode.

“I didn’t feel tired, I just couldn’t do it. I couldn’t get to him.”

The Cowboys were on the field for 40½ minutes Sunday night (see 10 observations), and Maxwell never left the field.

But this was Brandon Weeden and Terrance Williams. Not Romo and Dez.

“You’re a human being, you get tired as the game goes on,” Maxwell said. “That’s how it goes.”

Just a reminder that Maxwell signed a six-year, $63 million contract with $25 million guaranteed.

Maybe admitting you were tired isn’t what Eagles fans want to hear right now?

“We were playing pretty good before the last touchdown,” Maxwell said.

Oh.

This loss certainly wasn’t on the defense(more on that here). They gave up only the one touchdown and just 13 points.

And Maxwell did force a fumble that led to an Eagles field goal.

But it’s safe to say the Eagles’ season hasn’t started out the way anybody expected.

And neither has Maxwell’s Eagles career.

“Right now, the only option is to be positive,” he said. “We start pointing fingers, that’s not going to get us anywhere.

“So we’ve got to come together right now. It’s time to come together. Stick with each other and let everybody outside talk about us, but we’ve got to come together as a team.

“Obviously, we’re surprised. But it’s the NFL. Things happen in life. You’ve got to take it and keep moving.”

Like I said in preseason, don't be surprised if both these players are wearing Cowboy uniforms next year.

I would be surprised
Not because of talent just money
Now if Carr would take a cut and Mo would sign something reasonable then I could see it
but Patmon is playing pretty well so that might be the answer at one spot
Just my opinion

He might have to play 110%...
Really
It's gonna be tough
A CB playing every snap is much different than a dline guy playing every snap
May need to give Collins a few snaps at DE, he sure is athletic enough lol

And Maxwell did force a fumble that led to an Eagles field goal.

I know you didn't write it and that it is an article, but...

Unless I'm remembering incorrectly, the Escobar fumble that Maxwell caused was followed one play later by the fumbled snap by Bradford and Dallas got the ball right back. They didn't get a FG out of it did they?

The Wilbur percentage does not surprise me... I read some folks saying he was a liability... but I'm thinking, we're playing more nickel.. he's not seeing the field much..... I wouldn't be surprised to see him play some RDE this week...

DBs:

Dunbar continues to get equal time as Randle, but spends most of his snaps split wide. We can we just consider him a WR?

Street got almost as much playing time as Beasley, and Butler was in on 25 snaps, which is way more than I thought would be the case.

I would to like to see Dunbar get more touches as a halfback... keep teams off balanced. As of now, when you see a package with him.. the thought is receiver.... especially in single back...... sweeps, delayed draws...etc...

I looking forward to when they can maximize Butler's time on the field.... when he becomes a true threat....

Maybe you missed my 110% humor.

Collins at 1tech. I always wanted to see LA play a few snaps at DT.
