Not sure if this has been posted yet - apologies if so.

A few highlights:

- Ogletree's performance was really quite insane in context of the amount of time he actually spent on the field. He played fewer than 49% of our snaps and caught balls on roughly a quarter of those snaps. That's an insanely high rate (considering many of those were running plays)

- Ware got more rest than usual. He is usually 100% or nearly 100% of defensive snaps. Only 91% this time.

- Connor, Silva and Albright are our ST specialists. Each of them played on essentially every team

- Silva had a surprising number of defensive snaps at 39%, more than Connor, Spears or either of the Butlers

- Speaking of V. Butler, I was surprised to see his snap count at 6 on the defensive side of the ball. Are we missing something here?

- Crawford got on the field for 3 defensive snaps. I was hoping for a bit more, but in a close game, I suppose you go with what you know.

Who knows why Butler only got a few snaps.

I think it's a shame he doesn't get more time.

I agree, Butler is a playmaker and we need to get him on the field.

This has me LOL at myself.

I've been calling for reduced snaps all off-season for Ware and Ratliff to help increase the odds they are healthy late in the season.

Then I see a couple of sideline shots of Ware while were on defense and start *****ing and moaning about it.:lmao2:

I like to see Ware limited to 90% of our snaps in competitive games.

good data

Butler is behind Ware but he can also easily go out and take some snaps for Spencer as he knows both spots by now. Also when they are in the 4-man line there is really no difference since they are both playing DE.

It is a shame we don't get Butler on the field more in the nickel. He is a much more effective pass rusher than Spencer. When he is in there he is relentless in his pass rush unlike Spencer who seems content to maintain his lane and chase down the QB if he scrambles.

Ryan needs to get Butler on the field more and Ware off the field more. I know it was hard to do last night but it has to start becoming a priority if we don't want to wear him down. He is a 260 pound guy who butts heads with 330 pounders with double team assist all game long. He needs a breather sometimes. The one time you want him on the field and fresh is the tail end of the 4th quarter.

Butler is a glorified Hamilton. Guy is close to worthless..he has no long term future here. NONE

If they aren't putting V Butler on the field then you need to ask why. Is it because the coaches don't see the fact he is a pretty good rusher when most of us do? Is it because they're stupid? Or is it because he lacks all the skills to play his position and they don't want to allow an offense to take advantage of it? I really don't know the answer(s) and I like the player; a lot. I often wonder why he doesn't get more snaps but my first thought isn't the coaches don't have a clue.

Do you see how easy that is? When we actually sit and think about it, we can figure it out quite easily!

Are the coaches just plain stupid? - probably not

yeah that will help ware also late in games because he will be fresher. Heck i seen tuck and JPP on the sideline's recharging. Plus it was humid weds. night players would get winded faster.

Really, I thought he looked like crap in the touchdownn drive that NYG had.
I kept yelling where is Ware, but it didn't help

I'm not too surprised about Silva, I saw him in there fairly early on and that tells you that they must like him (so does keeping him around all last year until now). I think he might have a future here.

I agree about Silva. I have said all along that he has the tools to be the best of the new safeties. He is an instinctive playmaker, whether on ST, coverage or in the run game. An athletic hard hitting ballhawk with great upside.

Church is nice, but Silva has the potential to be a stud.

Ah, I love trending. Thanks for the contribution.

Is there any data that sights down and distance or situation for when Silva was playing. If I had to guess, I'd say he was in there on obvious passing downs in favor of Church. Am I right?

No defensive snaps for Conner tells us something about their thoughts on Carter :)
