They do call the hook and ladder in those situations, just not all that often. We got burned on a similar play at halftime against KC back in 2017. They threw it to Tyreek Hill in the middle of the field; I assume he was meant to set up laterals, but he just ran right through our defense for a TD. It was disgusting.

And of course there was the Music City Miracle, but that was a return.

That's what you get for committing the cardinal sin of kicking the FG to turn a one-score game into a one-score game. What a terrible decision, and they might pay for it.

Being up six isn't any better and might be worse than being up 3 at this point. When you're up 3, the other team plays conservatively if/when they get into FG range and tends to play for the tie and OT. Up 6, the other team is playing for the win in regulation. They absolutely should have gone for it.
