Honestly? I have zero faith in Grossman being on the roster. His one year with Shanahan, Jr. must have been enough, I guess. Rex probably has a better (or more consistent) deep ball than Campbell, at least.
As for the "next to nothing" trade...I
want to believe it's because they wanted to trade JC to a team that would realistically see him as a starter, at least this year. Only one or two teams fall under that category. Seems like Shanahan and Allen were willing to take next to nothing in order to make sure Campbell went to such a team. I'd like to think that there were a few teams that would have given the Skins a 5th or 6th round pick this year to have him as their
backup QB, but they agreed to send Campbell somewhere where he could start. Then again, a 4th in 2012 is supposedly the "equivalent" of a 6th round pick this year, so...lol
...But, yeah, we didn't exactly get a good return on our investment, and that's putting it midly. I doubt anyone would or could argue against that.
