Snow!

It's supposed to warm up to nearly 32 here in Western Maine today, so I'm happy about that. After having spent a lot of time in Germany, Colorado, and Utah in my life, I thought I knew all about cold and snow...turns out, I didn't until I moved here. Thankfully, I'll be headed back to Texas soon.

I also have to snicker whenever it gets a little snowy or icy down in South Texas...the world just kind of shuts down. Those guys don't know bad roads.

I snicker too when NYers tells me that Texans don't know what bad roads are because it ices and snows all the time in NY. What they don't understand is New York always has salt on the roads to melt the ice. Texas doesn't. Salt makes roads a breeze to drive on compared to Texas where everything is black ice.

When Texas roads freeze, it's 50x worse than when NY roads freeze. I know, I've lived in both places. Black ice is the absolute WORST.

That happens here if the weatherman even mentions snow as a possibility. People stock up as if they will be marooned for weeks in their house.

Half the time we don't even get the snow. Annoying!
