No 1T ?
While it started out fine, I wouldn't have gone this route because:
2-CB ok, 2-S but not high end single high, 2 - OL which might not see the field for years, a DT that plays 3T like Gallimore and Hill, a DE when you already have Tank, Gregory starting, no 1T and no LB

Just not my idea of a good draft. (Although it might end up as a GREAT draft depending on the circumstances).

I don’t disagree. Some were value picks, but for me a 3rd DT or DE are starters as they will play regularly in the rotation. In some mocks, I found a huge 1T in later rounds, but frankly, I don’t see us going that route with Quinn. You don’t have to weigh 340 to stop the run, but you do need to be disruptive.
I think we need 2 CBs as I hope we let all of ours walk. I missed on Grant at FS, so I threw two deep safeties out there hoping someone steps up and the other plays special teams....lol.

I'm not a fan of any draft that doesn't get us at least two DTs.

I want the 2005 draft where we drafted four of them (Ware, Spears, Canty, Ratliff). Granted, the quality in this draft is not the same as that draft, but that's why I wouldn't draft one at No. 10.

Did you mean 4 DLinemen? Not 4 DTs

You're dreaming if you think Surtain drops to 15.
I’m just going by how the simulator changes. Suddenly it has Surtain dropping due to lack of elite speed, Farley is going before us, as is Paye. I’m guessing they change their filters as they hear rumors, etc.

I could go either way, but I'm mostly interested in acquiring DTs. The only negative about drafting four DTs would be numbers. Of course, the only one we've currently got who is an absolute keeper is Gallimore. Plus, depending on when we draft them, it's a good possibility that not all of them would make the roster. It's just more rolls of the dice to try to get a seven or 11.

I feel that we've got our starters at DE, so depth is the only issue there (and if we re-sign Aldon Smith even that's not an issue). At DT, we need almost a complete reboot. It was the weakness of our defense that allowed us to be gashed up the middle on runs and quarterbacks to be able to step up into the pocket on passing downs. We need to do whatever it takes to get better pressure players and run stoppers at those two spots, and we need a good rotation as well.

Plus, if we traded down and drafted someone like Barmore or even Davyion Nixon slightly later, I think he could play some big end on early downs, kind of like what Seattle did when Quinn was there.

Parcells retooled our defensive line with that 2005 draft. I'm all for trying to do that again. ... Of course, I acknowledge that that was considered a much better DL draft than this one. I do think there are some talented DL to be acquired, though.

I thought Nixon was flying up the charts into middle of first or late first. What happened ?
