I have seen that happen as a guy was putting his boat on the trailer. Did not have his parking break on and his truck ended up under water.

Now that takes some skillz! :lmao:

Yes it does. You do what you can when trailers haven't yet made it to your country.

Hang around boat ramps long enough, you'll see that in person. Try 4th of July or Labor Day weekend.

Saw a 32' Contender being loaded onto a 1 ton Chevy that looked like a $80K truck. Guy drops everyone off at the dock to go get a table in the restaurant, backs the truck down on the deep water ramp and hops back in the boat.

He pulls the Contender up on the trailer, hooks up the electric winch from over the bow with about 8-10' of cable out. He steps off down the trailer, hits the up button (the one's I've dealt with had a dead man's switch that you have to keep your hand on but this one didn't), and then starts talking on his cell phone up on the bank.

Wind pushes the boat off to the side. No parking brake set. As the cable comes tight, the boat pulls the truck into the water, truck's cab is closed so it floats for a minute, cab fills with water, truck sinks. Truck and trailer weigh enough to pull down Contender with it. ******** mess.

I had to get 47 stitches across my abdomen from laughing so hard. Happened in Port Aransas about 5 or 6 years ago.

There's another ramp right outside of Rockport, where Hookin' Bull boat yard is, right where the intercoastal comes into parallel the road that runs between Rockport and Aransas Pass. The ramp there is STEEP. Saw a guy start spinning his tires and not stop until his cab was in the water as well. People shouting, waving their arms to stop, etc.

I watched 2 guys back $80K worth of new truck and boat down a ramp into the water.

Passenger hops out, into the boat and fires it up.

Driver hops out and disconnects the boat, TRAILER AND ALL.

Passenger, now turned boat captain, slams the throttle back and heads over to the dock beside the boat-ramp, albeit, drafting rather low in the water.

Driver, quickly parks truck and sprints to end of dock. Hops in boat, and off they go, looking puzzlingly over the sides of the boat, no-doubt wondering why they had so little power.
