LOL! Ok I'll admit it. This thread, and several of the replies, really made me laugh.

Good thread Hos but the replies are what really made this thing funny.

The thread is just telling the truth, the replies are meant to be funny, and they are.

You know when I read the name "Dick Shiner", I thought Hos was saying that ol' one eye had a bruise.

you know, now that I had time to think about it, this may be a blessing in disguise for Commanders fans. They can always say

"No matter how bad Jason campbell is, at least he's no Dick Shiner"

It's not that big a deal that the guy didn't make the team anyways, I heard it was stiff competitiion.

If you have food or drinks in your mouth, you should probably finish swallowing before you spit them all over your monitor.

In 1964 the Commanders drafted a QB in the 7th round. A QB whose very name is literally the epitome of tragic. To make a joke about our QB they have to change a letter in his name. No such juvenile tactic is required for the name of one of their QBs. You see, in 1964 the Commanders drafted a QB named Dick Shiner.

Ok, I put down my chili cheese fritos and my Mt. Dew just to be safe, ... but I still couldn't see the monitor because of the tears in my eyes.

:laugh2:

Pleasant Valley War, also known as the Tonto Basin War, was basically a feud that pretty much wiped out both families. Someone who was involved for a while was Fredrick Russell Burnham, who was the inspiration for Allan Quartermain and thus eventually Indiana Jones.

I heard he's been wearing a helmet since he was just a couple of days old.

Dick Shiner on his short career: "I got the shaft."

Dick Shiner on his short career: "It was longer than she said."

Upon seeing the shiner family I heard someone say, "Look it's the Shiners, big Dick and little Dick, my what curly hair they have!"
