What makes you think that the refs or the league feels like we have been screwed? Has the NFL made an official statement or anything? Just curious

Unlike the NBA which favors it's more popular teams with officiating, the NFL seems to be doing it's best to keep it's highest ratings draw out of the Super Bowl. It would be poetic justice if the NFL ended up with a Seattle - Jacksonville Super Bowl.
