So do you think Dallas grabs a CB in 1st round?

We absolutely consider it if it's the best value on the board.

I think its give me, really there are no dominant DE or DT who are worth a first round grade

Brandon Thompson, DT, Clemson this is the only guy I would consider to be worthy of a first round pick

Devon Still, DE/DT, Penn State== not enough get up an go
Whitney Mercilus, DE/OLB, Illinois == gets lazy
Jerel Worthy, DE/DT, Michigan State == should go back to school

so lets look at who there

Alfonzo Dennard, CB, Nebraska
Janoris Jenkins, CB, North Alabama
Chase Minnifield, CB/KR, Virginia
Jayron Hosley, CB, Virginia Tech
Stephon Gilmore, CB, South Carolina
Johnathan Banks, CB, Mississippi State
Casey Hayward, CB, Vanderbilt
Desmond Trufant*, CB, Washington

not saying that any of these guys will be there

but I think all of these will be late round one or top of the 2 round pics

I think Devon Still is your classic bottom end of the 1st round type of pick (see Cam Heyward in '11, Jared Odrick in '10, Evander Hood in '09, etc.). I've got no problems taking him if we're sitting around 28th or 29th and select him (if he's the BPA).

I'm not enamored with taking any of these corners in the first round outside of Claiborne and Kirkpatrick.

I've liked Minnifield since early 2010, but I think he's more of a complimentary corner rather than a No. 1 type.

Denard does nothing for me. He's short, stocky and stiff. Not a combo I like with a corner in the 1st round (I have serious doubts he goes in the 1st round when it's all said and done anyways).

Actually from the admittedly little I have read, this is a good year for OGs but not so much for C's. There are 2 maybe 3 Cs (if Konxz) comes out early who legit first/2nd round picks. Remainder of Cs are more in the mode of the C we got rid of a few years ago (can't recall his name but he lacked true C size) and Gurode replaced that guy.

I think our 2 biggest needs are at CB & C, so if either one of these players are on the board when we pick in first round, then grab 1 of them. DL is also another need position as is OG. Kosier & what's his name have too many injuries & none of our younger OGs have stepped it up. Just as long as they don't use that first rounder on a WR, TE, etc.

The key of course is which of these players can make an immediate impact in their rookie season (like Dez & Smith).

i am not sure that i agree

to me our needs are:

1. OL (OC, and OG)
2. Front 7 (NT or DE, OLB)
3. CB ( i think our corners are serviceable if we improve pressure from front 7)

if we truly believe that there are 3 centers with 1/2 round grades, we should step up

yea so if we want anyother Spears why not wait later

a guy that can play but can do his assignment Spears Hatcher type

a 3-4 DE is never going to be a star

Billy Winn, DE/DT, Boise State
Kendall Reyes, DE/DT, Connecticut
Jared Crick, DE/DT, Nebraska
Derek Wolfe, DE/DT, Cincinnati

I got Dallas picking Wolfe

but I know its way early

this what NFP says about Minniefield

Impression: A talented corner who can bend, re-direct, maintain balance out of his breaks and make plays on the football. He improved as the year went on and looks like one of the more NFL ready corners in this year's draft. Should be able to start in just about any scheme

what I seen of Dennard I agree

BPA from OL, DL, or CB/SS

You could even be looking ILB here as well. I know some will say OLB but I have a feeling that Spencer is retained.

Give me Wolfe. If Kawann Short comes out give me him too. Short can play NT or DE and Wolfe has been very good. I would still sign Campbell in FA.

I also really like Minnifield, comes from NFL bloodline, smart. great work ethic, and is a great cover CB. Can't go wrong with that pick. For safety I really like TJ McDonald for the same reasons I like Minnifield.

I love Wolfe in round three. Talented and very productive.

I'd take Minnifield in the bottom third of round one, but I'd rather have Konz/Glenn/Decastro.

Chase Minnifield has been one of my pet cats this year. Looking forward to seeing him in his bowl game.
