So does Dez Bryant remind JJ of Michael Irvin?

[newlander]

I keep reading reports that indicate he's pretty smitten with this kid despite some "turbulence" surrounding him. Michael had the same rap out of Miami and well.....we all know Jerry is a risk taker. Only question is how high and how many picks/players it'll take to get him. I still think the Oline and Safety are more pressing needs but when JJ wants something......

i am listening to jerry's conference and i believe him when he says that wide receiver is not a consideration in the first rd,just the way he said made me believe him.

If we can somehow get Dez...We are that much closer to that SuperBowl trphy IMO...with the right people around him, he will be a multiple ProBowler...I've never seen talent like his at the WR position since Larry Fitz and I even like Dez more to be honest!

[newlander]

I still think he goes for him rmax....he'll downplay it and say "we're set at that position" but you know they have serious doubts about RW....if not then they sure should....

I really think Denver will grab him at 11, just before Dolphins pick.
I HOPE I'm wrong, though - I'd love to have the guy!

We got really lucky w/Miles Austin, but other than him, we basically ignore the WR position every draft!

[Verdict]

I don't think that you can compare Michael Irvin and Dez Bryant. To start with, Irvin had an attitude that appears 180 degrees from Bryant. All Irvin cared about was winning and he did whatever it took to win. Irvin was also a rare talent who continually worked on getting better. Bryant can't even show up for his workout in shape. I really hope that Jerry's "rueage" of not taking Moss does not talk him into taking Bryant.
