I don't know what it is, the fact that I get to go to the game, the fact that it is the biggest game we have played since I have really started watching the Cowboys (and I mean understanding them), or that for some reason I feel so much better about this game than I did last year about the Seattle game (when I felt we would play flat and we did).

I can tell on this board that it is starting to get electric in the minds of all the fans, and the team is saying all the things I like to hear about focus.

That being said, I haven't been around town at all this week - I am far too busy to get outside my routine of home and work. I listen to the Ticket, and they talk about it a lot, but it's a lot of the blah blah blah scary game, etc.

Others who live around here - what is the general feeling of your friends and family about this game? Is it the same as I feel - that this could be something special? Or is it kind of like it was last year, oh, woohoo, we snuck in?

Last year in the Seattle game I was just hoping we'd shown up. We had been humiliated by the Saints, humiliated by the Eagles, and then were toasted by the Lions of all teams in the regular season finale. Our defense had evaporated in December. Yet we went on the road in Seattle, where they have lost only three games in the last three years, and should have won if not for some weird play calls (the Terry Glenn screen at our own goal line), the overturned Witten first down, and of course, the freak play "The Bobble".

I know some friends/family who didn't even want to watch the Seattle game, afraid we would be humiliated again. I was actually encouraged somewhat after watching it, though still disappointed that we lost.

This year is nowhere near the same. I expect us to win. I expect us to go far. I feel good about this team, and expect them to show up and take care of business on Sunday. Last year I was worried about going into the 4th quarter, whether or not we had the lead. This year I expect to win even when we're down two touchdowns with under ten minutes left. Night and day.

I will add that like you I was a young gun during the 90s run. But luckily I really started following the Cowboys after the 91 season so was able to catch them at exactly the right time. Watched pretty much every game during that run. Of course, now 15 years later and wiser and having gone through those terrible Campo years, I appreciate the success much more now. I took it for granted as a child. No longer.

Yes, this week has really been like a pseudo holiday week. I wouldn't be suprised if other workplaces in D/FW isn't the same way.

Everyone in Dallas is waiting with great alacrity for Sunday to get here.

Of course, that alacrity is a double edge and if we lose, look out :D .

True. easy to see why. Some will spend the whole week downplaying the other team like the post we see of Eli sucks and the Jacobs is soft hey these guys are pros and very capable of going out and have a good game. Folks can down play the Giants all they want but the bottom line is they are a playoff team and a real threat. No doubt the Cowboys should and are favored but the Giants are not going to roll over for Dallas.

Yes this could be something special and you folks better appreciate the success of this team. Those of us who suffered through the years until we finally returned to glory back in the 90's already know this. Never take the success of this team for granted. The chances to win a championship don't grow on trees in the back yard.

I just got so fired up about this Sunday I did the Ric Flair dance across the room, does anyone else just have brief moments when they just raise a little hell by themselves because they are so pumped for a game?

And my father, who is a Cowboy fan of 30+ years said that he saw something in this team that he hadn't seen in any Cowboys team since 95 - this team has a short memory. Something that is necessary to suceed in the playoffs, our BP coached teams would have a big play happen then look completely lifeless as the team continued to gash them. Not this team, seems our boys always think they have a shot to win.

I have been noticeably wired since Monday morning for some reason.

Maybe its because I live in NY.

Earlier in the week I was more than a bit concerned about the Giants. Coworkers were showing the same concerns.

As the game gets closer I am starting to get that peaceful easy feeling about this game. A confident excitement without any fear.

3rd meeting this, blah blah blah the Giants are HOT! blah blah blah. All that crap doesn't matter. Because the bottom line is we are the better team. We are bringing more to the table this game and the Giants are bringing less to the table this game than any of our earlier meetings.

This is the first time we get to see this team all out. No holes barred, no excuses, just laying it all on the line. This is what the players have been playing and looking forward to all year. This will be a different team than we have seen all year.

And frankly in the end, the Giants won't even stand a chance. I don't even think the game will be close.

:laugh2:

And on that note, hopefully this Cowboys team will be taking a time machine back to January 1993, 1994, and 1996 and doing likewise in 2008.

I'm not flying out until Sat. The guys that work for me tried to pay the difference to change my flight to tomorrow. I'm so excited I'm miserable.:D

Saturday just can't get here soon enough, Sunday seems forever away.

Couldn't have said it better myself. One proviso....OWENS. Owens must play and play well. If he does, we kill em.

That's a great observation and IMO really means something from someone who's seen so much football over the years. I feel the same way. This team has proven that it has something special going all the way back to the Buffalo game forward to the GB game.

The feeling I get from listening to sports talk is that people are too concerned with the peripheral issues like Romo/Jessica, is Wade fibbing about T.O.'s ankle, coaches interviewing for jobs, and Wade's job security. Frankly, I don't get the concern about our losing -- I bet Green Bay's media and fans aren't already halfway anticipating a loss.

Personally, I think we're gonna come out like we did for the GB game and kill 'em. It's clear to me that we did hold some things back late in the year, and that plus our team and stadium fans being rested and ready for blood equals bad things, man, for Eli and Co.
