So I Get To Be Greedy Draft ***** Since We Suck

Totally understand buddy, but I dont want to take a need player, say if a better player is on the board, take BPA always, never reach. Thats why I hope we keep Spears, Bowen, Brent, Lissemore, and Igor, so we dont have to reach for DE.

Sometimes you can get Need and the BPA at the same time. That was why I said if they were the right value for the slot.

If you have a QB and a CB that are close to the same value staring you in the face...you have more need for a CB...take the CB. BPA and need.

If you have a QB staring you in the face that is far and away better than any player you have as a need staring you in the face...you can trade down to get more value. If you can not trade down and the other players sitting there are no where near as good as the QB...at that point you could take the QB.

However if that QB is as good as you expect, he will not be at that slot OR there will be plenty of teams willing to give you a good trade to move up and get him.

I just see no way for Jerry to take Luck or Locker for that matter.

As of right now the #4 pick in the Draft. Here's what I'd do.

1. Patrick Peterson, CB, LSU, 6'1", 220. Point blank, the best CB prospect I have seen since Revis. Is a force in run support, does not get beat deep, and is a PR on top of all this. I would move Newman to FS and ask him to add 10 pounds. Our FS makes less contact than our CBs do anyway. Newman's field vision would help in a huge way.

2. Matt Reynolds, OT, BYU, 6'6", 325.
He is a natural RT and a bull. He can play 4 positions along the OL, but I wouldn't use him at C or LT. Either OG spot or RT. Fill the biggest need and let's regroup that OL.

3. Mason Foster, ILB, Washington, 6'2", 245. Scouting services list him as an OLB. I'm telling you this guy is an ILB. He is a heat seeking missile. You cannot wrong foot him. He and Lee would be a long time tackling duo to be reckoned with. I watched him shadow JaQuizz Rodgers for an entire game and shut him down. Unreal. You heard it here first. I am pimping this guy.

4. Kristofer O'Dowd, C, USC, 6'5", 300. This kid is nasty. He may need a year to get 100% healthy, but when he does look out. He plays mad as hell all the time. In the run game he plows holes open. Freakishly strong and will start at the NFL level and excel. A steal at the top of the 4th.

5. JaQuizz Rodgers, RB, Oregon State, 5'8", 190.
I would let Barber go. I love him, but it is time to use Choice. Quizz as a dedicated Return guy and 3rd down back. He is electric.

6a. Greg McElroy, QB, Alabama, 6'2", 225. I love Ricky Stanzi of Iowa, but not far behind him is McElroy. We need smart QBs who can be groomed. I have no faith in McGee at all.

6b. Steve Schilling, OG, Michigan, 6'5" 305. We need to shore up OL on starers and depth. Period. This is our pick from Patrick Crayton trade to the Chargers. He is 22 catches away form moving up to a 6th for us.

7a. Cedric Thornton, DE, Central Arkansas, 6'5, 300.
A small school sleeper who has a great motor and football attitude. Will start to climb the draft slots by season's end and once he hits he Combines for sure.

7b. Charles Brown, CB, North Carolina, 5'10", 190. We need CB depth and brains and hustle at the position. Don't let this kid's height fool you. He can flat out play. This is our pick from Miami fo McQ.

Go ahead and rip it apart, but if anyone disses the 1st round pick they are out of their minds.

This is a dream mock for us. Only thing I would change is take Deunta Williams in the 2nd. Peterson + Williams = insane improvement. Then take Oline 2,3,5

where are you getting the extra 2nd?

Gonna have to draft top 3 to get Peterson.

Newman has crap ball skills. Why not take Peterson and try him at safety?

Your RT sounds like Brewster

Like the Quizz and O'Dowd picks.

Taking a QB is a waste.

Gimme something else besides a ILB in R3 and were good

JR Mark Barron 6-2 210 (9 picks)
SR DeAndre McDaniel 6-1 210 (237 tkls, 14 picks)

If we could manage to snag these two somehow I'd be happy.

Barron is a leader on that Bama defense and McDaniel played some LB and just has knack for being around the ball at SS.
Couple those two with Jenkins, AOA, Church, McCray and the future for our secondary is solid across the board.

4. Kristofer O'Dowd, C, USC, 6'5", 300. This kid is nasty. Freakishly strong and will start at the NFL level and excel. A steal at the top of the 4th.

yes he will be

KRISTOFER O'DOWD ON: His on-field personality: "On the field, I'm a whole other person. I just want to win. I want to score. I want to drive for a lot of yards. When I don't, it gets me more steamed. I like to take it out on other people. That's what's so great about our position. That's our job. It's the greatest feeling to put someone on their back and know that they know what happened...In my position, it's hard because you can't lose control. You need to stay mentally into it to make the calls...I'm hard on myself a lot. I'm my worst enemy sometimes. If I do something wrong on the field, it really bothers me. It gets me fired up

Yeah, I do like him. I admit I like Mason Foster better though. I just think he should be an ILB and is a possible mid round steal.

I am glad others are as jazzed about O'Dowd as I am. He may rise up draft boards, but man he is a bull. I love the way he plays. Watching him tonight. Every snap he hits someone and 2 or 3 if he can.

I watched a little bit of the Wash game - never got interested enuf
but looked liked Stanford had Mason's number - Draft scout has him ranked as 2-3
realize the D line is mostly Freshman

I would love to pick O'Dowd in whatever round NFL Draft scout has hin going in the 3rd

If we were able to get O'Dowd in the 4th, I will put on a speedo and dance. And I'm a 'hefty' guy.

I still remember O'Dowd starting his 2nd game, as a true freshman, against Nebaska in Lincoln, and absolutely dominating Suh that night. Was incredible to see a freshman be as dominant as he was that night.

Linebacker Chris White led the Bulldogs with 15 tackles.

tonite againest Kentucky

but he seems to slow as dirt with 4.7 to 4.8 40 time

but plays fast

boy would not mind if we even looked at Manny Daiz as a something for Dallas

Coaching Experience:

2008-09: Middle Tennessee (Defensive Coordinator / Linebackers)
2006-07: Middle Tennessee (Defensive Coordinator / Safeties)
2004-05: NC State (Safeties / Special Teams)
2002-03: NC State (Linebackers)

When new Mississippi State defensive coordinator Manny Diaz told linebacker Chris White before this season he had a chance to win the Butkus Award, the senior laughed. But Diaz wasn't joking. In his mind, he saw an elite Southeastern Conference athlete. "I'm a simple guy when it comes to evaluating linebackers," Diaz said. "I like them to run fast and hit hard. Chris White can run fast, he is tough as nails, and he will bring it." White, a 6-foot-4, 245-pound middle linebacker, was crucial in the Bulldogs' 10-7 victory over No. 22 Florida on Saturday, making 11 tackles, including 4.5 for a loss and 2.5 sacks to earn SEC Defensive Player of the Week honors. Though he hasn't received much national recognition and consideration for the Butkus Award still is a bit far-fetched, White quietly has been one of the SEC's most productive players, ranking second with 12 tackles for a loss and five sacks. No. 24 Mississippi State (4-2) will play its first game as a ranked team in more than nine years on Saturday, when it hosts UAB (2-4) at Scott Field. White came to Mississippi State last season after two years at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, where he was an All-American. "It's a position he's grown into," Mullen said. "I think you're seeing that comfort come up. He is a very talented player. When he sees things, he can get to the ball in a hurry and disrupt plays." White said most of his playmaking ability comes from natural instincts, but Diaz's blitz-heavy schemes have been a big reason for the success. - AP Sports

Only problem is you said best prospect since Revis, Revis wasn't highly touted at all coming out of college. Robinson is the best prospect in atleast a decade, and the second best is in this draft in Akamaura.

Also OT, I would love to moveup a bit and grab DeMarcus Love out of Arkansas.

Everything I said was true.. Revis went #14 to the NYJ, and by prospect I was talking CB prospect. Scott Wright of DraftCountdown hailed both of them in a similar way aswell.
