I am wondering if the easy camps mandated by the new CBA has anything to do with the seemingly greater incidences of injuries this year? And I recall hearing that the time spent by trainers with players has been cut back as well.

I'd almost guarantee it. Plus that the players can't be mandated to lift with team strength coaches over the summer as often. (Edit, that's probably what you meant by trainers.)
