So many holes to fill - LG, RT, DE, LB, S

Our hole fillers will be:

LG-McGovern
RT-Steele (once we trade or cut Collins)
DE-Parsons (with a side order of Basham and/or Golston)
LB-I don't know, other than Cox and Parsons at times
S-Hooker/Wilson (both will be the projected starters if Kearse leaves)

We will sign a couple of hole fillers at linebacker IMO.

It's the same one they've been using for years, so it's not hard to follow. The hard thing is not hoping that it will change. Fans see big-time free agents out there and hope when there really is none.

Move Collins to LG even at 10 mill per year he's worth it. Start Steele at RT and draft someone to compete. That takes care of the top 2 needs. You are missing some of the other key spots though. Center play wasn't very good and the middle of the defense too. We still need someone who could collapse the pocket and we need someone to stop the pocket from collapsing. If we get Wagner we could then focus on both interior lines. Kearse is almost a must but I don't mind the Wilson/Hooker combo.

I would sign a solid vet DE like WIll Gholston of Tampa. Very stout against the run but not needed to be a great pass rusher because we can rotate Parsons in there on passing downs. Sign Wagner at LB and maybe a vet guard and fill the rest of the needs in the draft.

Exactly. The way things are looking now the Cowboys would need an amazing draft just to maintain. Forget about getting better.

Plan A has failed, but that doesnt mean you compound it by rushing into making a rash move for the sake of making it.....If there's a player Quinn wants then fine, otherwise we wait until the draft.

RT is OK with Steele, not worried about that one

LG, DE, WR are gaping holes however. C and DT very weak. Gonna be tough to find 3 starters and two potential starters in one draft, picking in the bottom third. Likely able to find a WR or LG at 24.

But DE--we've painted ourselves into a corner here. The good ones will be likely be gone, and we'll be left with the Tacos of the world.

Not sure about that. The Temple transfer Arnold Ebiketie had a great senior season at Penn State, without the likes of Parsons starting next to him. There are other good edge candidates to be had at 25, but yes, it does box them in for a first round DE pick.

They could well move Micah, it's still utilising one of his elite abilities. It's not saying that it's a permanent move, but it's a plan that can be activated rather than rush into getting anyone for the sake of getting a DE.

If there's no edge rusher that Quinn likes in FA then surely Micah's the best alternative....that way we can look at either edge or LB in the draft, both positions are fairly strong.

As with the Gregory situation, we cant put all our eggs in one basket....there's so much talk of Johnson/Green at no.24, but what happens if they arent there or whether Karlaftis or another edge rusher we like falls.

There's nothing wrong with Parsons playing mainly on the edge for a year if necessary.... Im with you we'll be able to find and edge rusher or LB in the draft, even in the second/third rounds.
