Cowboys are in a unique position, with so many needs they can literally just follow their board and take the best player available at any position. The flip side is, they can try to move as far back as possible and get more top 100 picks.

You can make a real case for all these positions: RB, WR, G/T, DE, NT, LB, CB, S

I really don't see much separation at these positions after the 1st tier, that makes it harder to get a team to move up, but I do see one positional group that could draw some interest-Offensive Line.

Offensive Line, especially Tackle is very thin in this year's draft class. If the last top Tackle is sitting there, I think it would draw some interest for a needy team.

They also need to understand it will probably be very difficult to find a blue chip prospect at 12. I think with this draft you find a team that wants a certain player at 12 then get as much draft capital from them. I am hearing that out of the top 50 players only 4 are blue chippers and 15 through 50 all have similar grades. I would try to get 3 picks in the top 50 if that is possible.

This^^^ ...... Brian Callahan was saying they have narrowed their selection to the top 4 elite players ( Ward, Sanders, Hunter, and Carter). Saying this coz it's consistent with what I've heard pretty much ( with the exception of Sanders ). After the top 4-5 .......you can probably bunch the next 6-20 or 25 together w/o much separation. Just depends on what your team needs.

With that said.......unless Jeanty drops to 12, I'm trying like hell to trade back to 20th range for an extra 2nd. There is still an excellent chance I can get a day-one starter to fill one of the positions mentioned.

We also need to understand that just coz you are getting a so-called "blue chip" player doesn't mean you can't get a solid day-one starting player who could very well be an elite in a couple of years or so.

Outside of Hunter, Graham, Carter I would see if you ca find a trading partner. I would even consider moving back to the the end of the round if it garnered a nice pick package.

My hope is to find another Lions type package, where they overpay cause they want a certain player.

That's the goal, adding at least 1 more pick inside the top 50. I would even consider moving back further to get even more picks. I think moving back into the 25 range, you can still get a quality DE, CB, WR, DT.

That is why I am in favor of trading down and hopefully get 3 solid day one starters instead of two. Although I would be careful with the day one starters stuff. You seem to underestimate how hard it is to play in the league. Jalen Carter was not a day one starter. I don’t think any of these receivers could walk in and start day 1 for Cowboys for example and none of these defensive tackles would start over Mazi day 1.

Hunter would help at two positions so I could be ok with the trade but I don’t see a team agreeing on a deal without getting a first round pick next season. With our schedule and Dak’s injury questions it could easily be a top 5 pick. That would be a disaster.

No way do i take Jeanty at 12

Trade down to 20-22 is the best option

I don't think he's getting past the Giants ......... IMO their signing of Wilson and Winston all but confirmed they will select Carter or Hunter or trade down.

Unfortunately, due to the continued mismanagement of our roster, I really do think our best option is to trade back to #16-20 range in Round 1 and acquire, say, an extra 3rd rounder.
