So much for hell being unleashed...

thank goodness Wade was not crazy enough to make a statement like Tomlin made and be embarrassed like that. I would imagine ESPN would devote an hour segment to story of how the Cowboys are not able to back up anything they claim
funny how Fassel was able to pull off something similar with Giants when they went to the SB that year ...but he was a lame duck head coach anyway and had nothing to lose by making that statement --"anyone want in get in, anybody want out, get out, this team is going to the playoffs"

Media likes to protect the steelers... If a quarter of the stuff the steelers players and coaches say the cowboys say, there would be 'hell unleashed' in Dallas.

I was thinking about Tomlin last night after watching the end of that game. Sure, he has immense benefit of the doubt because of last year, but isn't some of that eaten away by losing to 3 of the worst teams in the AFC in consecutive fashion, one of them a complete 4th quarter, final drive collapse at home? Not to mention it's now 5 in a row lost overall and 0-2 in December, with a team with relatively good health expect for their star safety?

What would they be saying about Wade if this happened to him? I hear very little criticism of Tomlin himself so far but ironically, Wade will be burned at the stake if the Cowboys do poorly against an immensely tougher schedule during these last few games.

I agree. Only thing I hear is Pitt down fall is because Troy Polamalu is injured.

Wade's history of doing exactly what the Steelers are doing this year late in the season ain't doing him any favors. Tomlin has at least won something. Wade has never even won a playoff game not here not anywhere he's been HC, that's why Wade catches a lot of crap and rightfully so

Tomlin gets a free pass because he just won the Super Bowl. That buys you a couple years of ineptitude before they start calling for your head.

But to me, he's the Steelers' version of Barry Switzer.

A guy who inherited a great team, got a Super Bowl out of it, and then screwed it up as his influence grew.

I saw an interview with him after last week's game and he said that you talk all you want, but still have to deliver. He said "talk is cheap"...which it is. I think he regrets those comments.

Why? nothing he said was untrue

Dude's not rolling over like another HC who's name i won't mention does. I'll give him credit for at least trying to fire up that mess of a team

No...talk is cheap. You can stand on your chair all day and say "I'm going to kick your tail" but if you don't followup you look like a weenie.

Maybe you don't agree, but from what he said...he does regret it. He in fact said so directly....so you are disagreeing with him actually.

Well, first of all, not sure on what his December record was in his previous coaching stops but here, he did decently in 2007 (beat the Packers in a Nov. 29th game and then a couple of other wins in December proper, including at Carolina to clinch the division title with Owens hurt the majority of the game.) Forget the last game that year against the Skins, as we played it as a preseason contest personnel-wise.

Last year he faced an incredibly tough schedule in the final month, as he will this year. No excuse for the Eagles finale, I certainly concede that, not by that final score. Otherwise however, wouldn't we love for the 'Boys to be handed the cupcake end-of-season schedule the Steelers have had the last 3 weeks? We already know we wouldn't lose to the Raiders at home, and we also won at KC in tight fashion early in the year. I think the disparity would be even greater were we to play the Chiefs now. And no, I don't think we lose to the Browns, regardless of the location or what month the game takes place in.

No, talk is cheap, what's wrong in saying talk is cheap, is it not true?

At least he gets that part, unlike "the best team lost", "everything will be ok..." and "13-3"

Tomlin is nothing but a mouthpiece. Now that he's really putting his stamp on the team, well the results speak for themselves.

I think the Tomlin hatred here is premature. I think we should wait and see what adjustments are made in the off-season going into next year before we start blasting him.

They need to get younger on their offensive line.

I agree that the hatred is premature. Still they should not be losing games to three of the worst teams in the NFL. Any coach or organization should be questioned if that happened to them. Dallas was blasted for how they finished the season last year when they went 1-3 down the stretch. All 3 of those losses came to playoff teams. The Raiders, Chiefs and Browns are not making the playoffs.

Will Pittsburgh fix their offensive line? They had the same problems last year. Big Ben got sacked a lot during the 2008 season and their running game struggled. They just managed to get by last season and not this season.
