I was there when Tony D and Randy White were inducted and I think a return trip is long over due. I will making plans on going there to watch the Great Mike Irvin , just wondering if anyone is planning on attending?

In another thread, somebody said the HOF game participants have already been determined and it's Pittsburgh vs. New Orleans...

Any confirmation of that? I don't remember the teams being decided this early last season. And I thought that usually teams in the HOF game had ex-players or coaches being inducted...?

It's true Pitt and NO will be in the HOF game. It was announced during the HOF selection program. Can't remember if it was before or after. It might've during while they waited for Irvin. Not sure.

As for your second question, I don't recall that ever being the case. I think last year's participants had nothing to do with the inductees. I'd have to do a quick check to make sure.

Well last year's teams IIRC were Philly (Reggie White) and Oakland (John Madden).

I guess I never really thought about it in previous years. By the time this game rolls around, we're starving for football...any football. I'll check up on some of the years to see how they match up.

I never thought the teams participating in the HOF game had any intentional relevance as to who was being inducted.

A little research shows that 5 of the last 6 games did indeed have at least one team play that had a related inductee.....but nothing shows that both teams did.

In the 80s, best as I can tell, only once did a team play that had a direct tie to an inductee in the same year.

...Dallas has never won a HOF game.

...There is only one player in the HOF that never played in the NFL..Billy Shaw- Buffalo Bills.

....A rule that makes me wonder what if.....If it requires an 80% up vote to be selected, and we know no more than 6 and no less than 3 can be selected in a single year....is it possible that none of the 6 finalists receive the 80%?

It is always fun going to the HOF I strongly suggest any Cowboy fan to come out to see it , we are getting some of our boys in there so hopefully every year we will have another inducted, does anyone know who is eligible along with the older great players just was wondering, thanks
