So Parcells said they have to shore up the protection

Well, I surely hope that they're working on stunts this week. Howard and Walker were killing Kosier and Adams. It's like our guys didn't recognize what they were doing as the LG and LT both went after the same guy a couple times. May have to do with them practicing against a 3 man line instead of four and the fact that I don't recall ever seeing our MLB's stunt.

Also looking at the play where Lito Sheppard had an easy INT opportunity (the one he dropped) where Drew's arm got hit the second time. With the angle shown on the replay, he was going after Glenn on the post. He had good protection. All he had to do was step up in the pocket and he would've had either an easy throw to Glenn on the post or Witten coming across the middle. Needless to say, he gets happy feet when pressured and rushes throws when he's not even pressured. Doesn't step up attempts the throw, arm hit the 2nd time, near INT #2. You'd think a 14-year vet would recognize when he can step up in the pocket.

More line talk...Do good lines get the benefit of the doubt? I swear the Eagle line was holding our defensive lineman with no calls. Now maybe I think I know what constitutes a hold, maybe I don't. Maybe they were getting the benefit of a doubt. I do find it hard to believe not one holding call on them the whole game, at least I can't remember.

I think Bledsoe makes these guys look worse than they really are.

Why would our line be practicing against a 3 man line a week before we play a 4-3 opponet?

Bledsoe could be very successful with this line:

well they're used to practicing against a 3 man line and I'm sure the scout team ran a 4-3 but I hardly doubt they were stunting in practice, thus, the poor play when they faced the stunting eagles d-line.

The purpose of the scout team is to simulate the opposing offense/defense as accurately as possible. This is why you see alot of teams using WR's and such as QB's on the scout team the week before a game against the Falcons. I am sure they were stunting against the offensive line in practice.

and I guess that's why Flo and Kosier looked like a deer in headlights during the game. You'd think they recognize what's coming. We know what the purpose of the scout team is. Could've been something they hadn't shown as much this year. To me, it looked like a lack of preparation for it. That's my opinion.

It is hard to get 3rd and 4th string guys to simulate the strength and intensity the first string of another team can bring. I am not trying to make excuses for them either, as they should be prepared to play against a 4-3 since the majority of our opponets this year play it, and they have seen it often enough to know what to do.

that's my point. they should be prepared to handle it and not have both guys blocking the same guy while the other goes free.

I would chalk it up to personal stupidity, I mean Flozell DID go to Michigan State.
