So, the offense isn't changing?

Garrett isn't going anywhere. That means his offense isn't going anywhere either.

There will be changes made on defense. Ok, that's needed.

But offensively, this team isn't good enough either. Not even close to good enough! This team doesn't stand a chance

This offense just finished 5th in the NFL in scoring. They need to run more effectively, no doubt about that but overall, the Offense did pretty good.

I just can't see Garrett hiring a OC to run anything other than HIS scheme. I would be happy to see his stay as HC as long as we brought in a solid offensive mind to run the offense. But I suspect that would be admitting that he isn't a good OC and he won't do that.

But don't you feel like we leave way too many points on the field? Last last night we had 3 field goals. We have long stretches of 3 and outs and then we get hot again. We seem to get all of our stats in burst and come up short when it matters most.

We were one of the worst 3rd down offenses in the nfl.

This offense doesn't put up the numbers that it should w the talent that it has

I suppose we need to be the greatest show on turf to have an acceptable offense.

No...I'd be happy with less stats and more balance. I'd much rather have the old Cowboys style of line up and ram it down your throat than the old Rams offenses that had all of the flash.

I'd suggest you purchase a time machine then. In 2013, this is the way teams move the football and, last I looked, the Cowboys are kind of sort of pretty productive at it.

I think every team in the NFL thinks that. It's rare, when not playing the Cowboys Defense, to just march up and down the field at will. We can be better, we did have some missed plays and opportunities for sure. But if you look at the overall production and year, the offense did fairly well. Not great but not bad either. I really think that Romo was injured most of the year after the 1st Giants game and really affected how we attacked teams. But I really have no clue why they won't run the ball more. That is really my only compliant with the Offense is that they didn't do enough to protect the D that was horrible. But if you do that and are 3 an out, that just leads to points against you so I can see why they were more aggressive with all the passing but i would still like to see more running.

We were 24th in rushing this year with a running back that was 4th in the league in yards per attempt. That tells you that we weren't able to take time off the clock to protect a porous defense. Instead we got all of our yards throwing which resulted in us having the 26th ranked time of Possession.

I know we were 5th ranked in points but we got them at the expense of leaving a defense on the field that was remarkably ill equipped.

Like someone else already said: if we had an average defense this year we'd most likely be in the playoffs right now.

Are there areas of the offense that need improved? Certainly. Is the offense the main reason we didn't make the playoffs? No.

We were near the top of the league in offensive scoring, and our red zone efficiency was drastically improved from 2012. The only glaring issue was 3rd down efficiency. A little more balance would be nice too.

But we certainly don't need an overhaul of the offense. It just needs tweeked.

Is that true? By leaving the defense on the field as much as we did this year no matter who we have on defense, they will wear down and struggle. I feel like for the past 3 years we have watched the offense be put in a position at the end of games to have to be perfect or we lose. One of the reasons for that is that we start out slow in most games and our defense has to keep us in the game. The other teams fight to the end and we are usually behind or narrowly ahead at the the end of the game. So as the pressure mounts to be perfect the QB makes a mistake, we fumble, drop a key pass, etc. and lose the game. If we were more consistent we could get a head and not wear down the defense so much.

It's not about not fixing something that isn't broken. It's improving your football team in every way you can. IMO, the offense isn't as good as it should be. It needs change as well. Just bc it isn't the biggest weakness on the team, doesn't meant you don't change it.

Even if you fix the defense-and get it to the point where it's really good, this team still isn't good enough to win a championship. Why wait until then to fix the offense? Fix the offense now too, before it's too late

it seems like we have too many 3 and outs when our defense is historically bad, we actually are 7th in the league in three and out drive percentage.

So you're telling me my TV will have to endure another year of me yelling "run the damn ball" at it?
