-Players must have 6 years experience before they are eligiable for unristricted free agency.
-Severe restrictions on playoff teams that stop the rich, from getting richer.

AbeBeta;3227516 said:that isn't necessarily true -- there is a plan in place if there is no cap -- but this is not about eliminating the cap, it is about how high that cap is going to go in the next CBA.
The fact is that if the league goes to a "no cap" there is no way the owners are going to agree to a situation where player FA eligibility occurs any time before 6 years of service. And the player's union would far prefer a cap to FA not starting until 6 years of service.

The biggest reason is because if they don't come to an agreement on a CBA you can put it in the bank that in 2011 there will be a strike or lockout and no football for a period of time. Speaking as someone who has hated 2 of those already, get the CBA done.

Imo the new cba will probably really punish any team who attempted abuse of the uncapped year . Ie probably the Commanders. I think things will go pretty smoothly and with everyone in expectation of a new cba . Things shouldnt be much different than in years past. Some teams may cut some players but other than that we wont see much of a difference anyone agree ?

wouldn't that make them a UFAPullMyFinger;3228155 said:Great.
I dont think players stay on their teams long enough now as it is. You invest 4 years in a player and he jets off somewhere else? Where is the sense in that.
I think once your drafted by a team, you should STAY with that team unless you're traded, cut or your contract expires and you dont re-sign.
I hate this part. Like I always say, punishing teams for being good.

I think so too...unfortunately.Big Dakota;3228089 said:I'm betting there will be a few games missed in 11.

Edited to add: The thought of a season without football is just too sad to contemplate. Here's hoping they get everything straightened out. : (
