I don't recall Deion or Charles single handedly destroying their previous teams. This is NOT just about the Star incident. Really.

Yer kidding right? Fair weather? This has EVERYTHING to do with being a fan who cares. You on the other hand have as many morals as the Sharpie in TO's jock.

You're right, I care more about winning in football than morals.

Dead on. I couldn't have characterized it better myself.

If you feel like it's "unacceptable," feel free to go pull for another team.

Otherwise, if you are going to stay a Cowboys fan, I can't help but feel you are just wasting everyone's time with overdramatization since you'll just return and cheer for him once the season starts.

Honestly, I don't care how a player acts as long as we win. I didn't care that Irvin was snorting cocaine off a stripper's ***, because he was the best clutch receiver in the game.

Maybe I don't have the pride or morals of some of you guys, and that's fine. I watch football to be entertained, not for some made for TV version of how to live a righteous and proper life. I want Dallas to win, end of story.

That's not what you said.

You posted a pick of the star incident.

Heh, Haley was taking dumps in guy's lockers. He also almost killed Steve Young after a loss to the Raiders. Literally, killed.

Given the choice, I guarantee you every Eagle on the team last year would rather have a pissed off TO than a pissed of Haley :)

Listen. I posted the pic because it embodied everything TO is about. If you think I don't want him just because of the STAR, than you are clearly mistaken.

Here's more Haley for you:

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2005/writers/michael_silver/08/19/silver.to.haley/1.html

How did he accomplish his objective? Let's just say Haley made T.O.'s recent run of misbehavior look like that of a fiendish frat boy. Or maybe a frat-boy analogy does apply to Haley's behavior. To paraphrase a line from Animal House, his acts were so perverse and grotesque that decorum prevents me from listing all of them here.

Because I covered the 49ers as this was going down, I was treated to some mighty graphic tales in the midst of Haley's summer of discontent, several of which involved bodily excretions. Most famously, there was a post-practice incident in which Haley decided to turn the car of Tim Harris -- the similarly gifted pass rusher whom the 49ers had acquired the previous season -- into a makeshift urinal. Stunningly, Harris objected, resulting in a physical confrontation between the two men.

When Haley, the following afternoon, did something even more disgusting in a defensive-line meeting, Seifert reached his breaking point. Get rid of him, he and general manager John McVay agreed, and they set about trying to unload him to the highest bidder.

Yeah, but TO said Favre was a better QB than McNabb. THE HORROR!!!

The last thing I was trying to do is piss everybody off. We ALL have different opinions of TO. I guess this should have gone in opinion zone. I can not stand a player who clearly does not play for a team. You guys can repost this thread the first time things don't go To's way.:)

Yea, the star thang... that's disrespectful and all...
But the real reason you should hate him is this...

a_owens_195.jpg

g_owens2_412.jpg

can't keep his mouth shut.
isolates himself from the team.
points blame at his teammates.
cries when he doesn't get his way.
doesnt follow instruction.
doesnt respect authority.
doesnt honor his agreements.
did I mention can't keep his mouth shut.

There are two arguments against TO.

1) He's a bad person and you object on moral grounds and find it to be a disgrace since he stood on the star.

2) You are worried about the risk he presents to the team but really don't care if he's an arsehole or not.

It sounded to us that you were making an argument based on #1.

Get used to it, is all I can say.

Or go pull for another team.

----------------------------------------------

If you wanted to argue #2, you wouldn't have posted the pic on the star and called it unacceptable. Because his showboating has nothing to do with him ruining teams. Plenty of players showboat and do not ruin their teams, such as Steve Smith.

Therefore I don't find argument #1 to be very credible and I suspect it is only advocated by the most out of touch romantics.

I don't buy argument #2 either but at least I believe it is a risk. I just believe its worth the risk.

MY point EXACLTY..... People put blinders on the second the first touchdown is scored....

I bleed BLUE and will cheer for any player playing their hearts out for MY TEAM :starspin

Sorry your wrong, not all of us are just going to bow down to TO because he scored a TD. That may be how you feel but that is not a lot of others feel. As for being a fan of this team I have been one longer than many around here have been alive so yes I will continue to support the Cowboys as far as owens goes he could break his leg tomorrow and I would not give a damn

What the hell is it with you guys thinking it is AN OPTION for me to root for another team? I just don't think the signing is a GOOD idea!! For christ sake.

If you were a Cowboy fan in the 90's, you should be well aware of forgive and forget. I'm not talking about Deion. I am talking about things far worse and dispicable than standing on a logo in a touchdown celebration or high stepping into the endzone. I'm talking drugs, adultry, prostititues, stabbing teammates in the neck with scissors, and all sorts of other crap.

And I'm not talking about Deion.

So once they put on the Cowboys Uniform they can pretty much do whatever they want and trash who ever they want and that's good thing. Sorry it does not work like that for me, the guy is a punk and like the old saying goes You can put a dress on a pig but it is still just a pig.

So then it IS acceptable?

You're gonna accept the Cowboys WITH Owens... great.

That's what I figured.
