According to everything we have heard, this should be Dak's last game as a starter, with the bye the following week....that should be enough time to get Tony the practice reps he needs.

I guess my question is are we ready to move on from Dak?

Yes. Dak was just holding down the fort for Romo until his return and did a good job. Great to finally have a good backup.

I am starting to think the Cleveland game theory is gaining momentum, so it's probably 50/50 now this may not be his last game. However, if they lose Sunday and Jerry and co. are looking for a loss to smooth things over for an insertion point... they had best try to get him ready to play against Philly because a loss may not come any time soon after.

I just want to see him play and take it from there.

And I have to admit that I'd love to see him take on Wentz and the Eagles after the bye. It's so much fun what we've got going on here.

You know Jerry would be salivating over the coverage Dak v. Wentz would bring for the next two weeks.

He probably does, but he also wants Tony out there. For a long time I felt strongly he should play when ready, I think you have to get him out there ASAP to get going and I doubt Tony is scared of getting sacked by the Eagles like the Chicken Little fans. However it's hard to escape the logic that playing Cleveland is like a preseason game and it would be perfect to come back to that. But I could go either way.

That's about where I am. Honestly, I'd like to see Dak play some of these NFC contenders. I think the data would be really useful in making a decision for the rest of the season. Whatever we do, there needs to be no going back when and if Tony goes in.

from a fan perspective, i think most of the fanbase wants to see Dak vs Wentz. of course if we beat GB this week i dont think Dak sees the bench unless the wheels start falling off vs Philly or Clev.

We'll see. These teams are a lot better. It'd be great to know if he can handle the better NFC challenges before we hook him to our playoff wagon.

And if he does handle it, it raises the bar if you're wrong about putting Tony back in the lineup.

We are not moving on from Dak. We are just putting in the better QB at the moment, which is Romo. Dak has convinced me that he can be the man for the next decade plus.

I am also of the opinion that Tony Romo is the best, by far, QB on this team if he is healthy. If Tony Romo is indeed healthy, in shape, and practicing well then I am extremely excited about what this offense can be, and it's been awesome so far with Dak.

It's been awhile since I've been so excited about this football team. The defense seems to be on the up and up despite all of the concerns we have had through the offseason. The offensive line is everything we thought it could be and more.

No .......but they dont care what the fans want.
They should wait for the cleveland game if they have any sense at all.

The #1 way to screw up this season is to turn it over to Romo before Dak struggles. The main reason is that with Romo at QB, there will be more pressure placed on the defense. Romo likes to force it downfield. That leads to turnovers and three and outs. That gives the other team 2-4 more possessions for the defense to defend each half. I don't think our defense will hold up to that. Romo may score more points, but will it be enough to still win? Right now, Dak and Zeke are controlling the clock, not turning the ball over, and scoring TDs in the red zone. The other team is only getting 3-4 possessions a half and the defense is benefitting and playing well because they are not gassed all the time and defending short fields. This is the team's new winning MO and Romo will not maintain it. All I am saying is wait until Dak looks like a rookie and struggles. Then it's a no brainier to go to Romo but not while the team is rolling.

There will be plenty of time to see that the next several years

Clarence Hill was oinj a Dallas sports radio show and he quoted Jerry in saying in regard to Romo's health status, "We'll have to see after the eagles game how he feels."

I paraphrase that, but essentially Hill believes Jerry was indicating Dak p[lays against Philly.

Dak will beat Philly. Period.

If he beats Green Bay, and then the Eagles, the week leading up to the Browns will be damn interesting.

While I love Romo as much as anyone, if the Cowboys keep winning, do you fix what isn't broken? We may have another Bledsoe-Brady situation or a Montana-Young situation in SF.
