So we have 4 2006 UDFA on the roster this year?

Austin
Hoyte
Elam
Hurd

Am I forgetting anyone? (Rector spent a year on the PS I think.)

After FA, I figured maybe we'd have 1-2 UDFA make our roster, given the relatively high level of roster talent versus the previous couple of years.

I'd say this is was a pretty good job by Ireland . . . .

Romo. Johnson.

Or maybe it's 3 UDFA? . . . . Elam may have been on the PS last year.

Elam wasn't on the PS(I don't think he was anyway), but I don't think he was technically a rookie unless it was the year his class graduated. He has been out of school awhile now, I would think. Knowing his past troubles.

This class apparently was deeper at WR than the experts thought.

The Austin move was a big surprise to me as well.

I'm not sure how secure his spot is, however . . . .

Easy to see why he was kept over Green, Green stunk. Can't believe that he was kept over Copper.

Elam wasn't a 2006 UDFA. He was a UDFA with the Dolphins last year, and they cut him early in training camp.

Austin might not make it to the regular season. But if he does, it's because of how he plays on special teams. He'd essentially be taking Copper's place as special-teamer who can play wide receiver. And Austin has a better chance of devloping into a decent receiver than Copper does.

Copper played 321 plays on special teams, more than anyone else on the team.

I don't remember anything either... but I do remember hearing more than once from Parcells that Copper excelled on special teams. So he must have, but not in a way to catch our eye.
