OK. First, the DC.com site was quoted as stating that the Cowboys obtained a 7th rd. 2007 draft pick from the Saints in exchange for LB Scott Shanle. Then, the Sun Herald newspaper from Biloxi comes out the next day stating the pick received was a 4th rd. pick.
Today, I'm reading in DC.com, and once again they restate the 7th rd. pick quote.
Now, my first inclination is to believe our own DC.com, the best team site in the NFL. However, my heart is still hanging on to the 4th rd. pick, for obvious reasons.
Somebody help me out?

From everything I've seen and read we received a 4th round pick for him and a 7th for the TE we sent to NYJ

Stranger was that during the 49ers game Babe mentioned that Parcells had said that it was a quality pick. Which he stated didn't make sense when it ended up a seventh. It was also espn and Pasqualeri that put out that it was a 4th and I'm sure the Sun Herald just went with what they reported.

I have also read that we got a 7th for Shanle with the possibility of it upping to a 6th.

Although it would be great to think we got a 4th, I don't think that is possible.

All the Dallas people are convinced it's a 7--why are people still clinging to the hope engendered by an out-of-town reporter's mistake?

AdamJT13 where are you? You seem to have the inside info on all this stuff. It is a conditional higher pick (a 4th or 6th) that downgrades to a 7th depending on playing time or stats or something??

Any update on this? There is confusion in many places online about this trade.

A 4th or a 7th?
