...that Ireland and Parcells disagreed on something and Parcells won out? My guess would be nothing will happen but it sure will piss me off that Jerry let Ireland go in a lateral move and got no compensation.

He got promoted, he is the gm.

The promotion is job responsibility, not job title. He was allowed to leave because he supposedly has final say in all personnel decisions. I put it at about 100% certainty that he and Parcells will have disagreement and Parcells will win out. When we learn of this it will be proof that Ireland never really had final say and thus made a lateral move.

I dont believe that and I dont think parcells will be there more than 2 or 3 years but Ireland will.

parcells is playing the same kind of role levy played in buffalo over the last two years.

Parcells will have a say, but ireland is the gm.

oh and lots of teams have gms that have different assignments. Some are resposnible for contracts and managing the salary cap and some are just personnell guys. I think Ireland is going to have alot to do. I dont know if miami has a cap guy like we do in stephen jones who handles contracts and salaries, but if they dont it will be Ireland's job as General Manager overseeing all areas.

Jerry let him go on his own accord, regardless of the rule. Everyone knows now that Ireland doesn't have final say, and that Jerry could have prevented the move. Jerry chose not to invoke the rule.

If you're upset that Jerry didn't screw with a personal friend's career just for his own profit, then I don't know what to tell you.

Good point. People forget how close a fraternity the NFL is and screwing over someone now gives you absolutely nothing in return.

These guys aren't in the same conference and will probably only play each other once every four years so there isn't a whole lot of competition. This is to everyone's benefit in the draft where you'll have someone you can trust to trade with.

First, its done so let it go.

Second, you'll never know if there is a disagreement over there as I am sure that Bill won't let the GM or HC speak to the media. :)

Ireland knows what it is like to work with Bill Parcells, so he shouldn't be *****ing much if such things happen. He knew the job was dangerous when he took it.

I do expect some raiding and/or deals with the Cowboys to be made. But Parcells will usually arrange things under the radar (or table) first.
