Seeing your former OC going after his second SB?

Seeing your former HC completely turning a below average Defense into a juggernaut?

Or

Single handedly resurrecting a Detroit team that was the laughing stock of the league by ridding them of an awful WR and giving them premium draft picks to do so?

What a terrible weekend.

I'm gonna go with Bobby Carpenter being in a playoff game while we're on the couch.

I had no idea the lions used the picks they got in the Williams trade to pick up megatron and Stafford.

Pettigrew is nothing to sneer at.

No he's not. But people need to stop acting like we rebuilt the lions. Having a top 5 pick every year kind of plays a HUGE role in the building of a team.

I'm not sneering at nothing but the op's assertion that the Roy Williams trade built the lions into what they are now.

We didn't resurrect Detroit. They got one draft pick who's actually doing anything.

And Houston has a good defense, but the only good offenses they played all year were NO, Balt, Pitt, and Atl, and gave up a good number of points to all of them. They got to play the Colts/Jags/Titans twice a piece, the Bengals twice, the Browns, TB, Oak, Miami, and Carolina. Nothing against Wade, but that's not exactly a murderers row of offenses.

all of the above.

Houston?

Defensive juggernaut?

They've played well but they're far from some monster defensive team.

When nearly half of your schedule is made up of teams in the bottom 10 in scoring offenses, your stats should look good.

Wade has them playing better but they've only played a couple of legit offenses and have give up a points against them.

Thanks as if i wasnt depressed enough i had to go and read this.

We already have Witten why would we need Pettigrew?

Instead of Pettigrew we could have drafted Mack, a pro bowl Center. Or alternatively, we could have drafted Oher and gone maybe deeper in the 2009 playoffs by putting him at LT and Free at RT. Or we could have gone WR and drafted Hakeem Nicks, Percy Harvin or Kenny Britt.

Mike Wallace from Pittsburgh was taken two spots after our 3rd rounder.

Houston's defense is more talented than we are. They also added a first round pick and 2 FA CB's as well as Wade Phillips, who is a great DC, but below average HC.

Payton, without a doubt the biggest regret.

As much as Garrett is loved on this board for basically accomplishing nothing, I would bet the overwhelming majority of posters on this board would take Payton over Garrett in a heartbeat right now.

The biggest glaring difference between Payton and Garrett is the testicular fortitude with which they call games.

1) Payton will go for 4th and inches on his own side of the field. Garrett would punt.

2) Payton's team is up by 10, but he would score again to put the game out of reach. Garrett would cool down the engines, and go conservative.

3) Payton would demoralize the opposition by hanging 600 yards of offense on them. Garrett would think that 400 is sufficient.

4) Garrett would have his qb spike the ball just before attempting a 49 yard FG kick. Then he would ice his own kicker. Payton would call timeout, and try to score a TD instead.
