So what was the 3-4/4-3 breakdown?

It seemed to me we opened the game in 4-3 and used it quite a bit. Is this correct? There was no way to know from the freaking announcers since they didn't mention it once and were apparently entirely unaware. For those more perceptive and knowledgeable than me, how did that go? (Besides blowing again on D)...

the breakdown is this

dallas has no buisness ever playing the 3-4 again with a passrusher like ware, doing his thing on every down

I can't wait til next year with new coaches and a new defense!

we opened in the 3-4 and played a lot of nickle.I didn't notice the 4-3 course I was screaming at the tv quite a bit so I maybe missed it.

So were we in the 4-3 on those plays? Or am I asking the wrong guy?

That's what I thought but I'm no expert. We definitely changed personnel quite a bit. And we got a little more pressure but it wasn't consistent and it was against one of the most-pressured QBs in the league. My initial verdict -- it didn't do too much.

I saw the 4-3 about 75% of the time.

yup it was alot of 4-3. and u can tell because watkins played a big amount of plays. in the nickle nate jones plays FS. and he really wasnt seen until really the 4th quarter.

dallas has akin and carpenter in pass coverage alot of the time. so ill say this game was mostly 4-3. some nickle and very little 3-4

Sorry I was to busy watching the ball go downfield all day to see what D we lined up in.

and most of the 38 points as well.

defense 5 sacks , forced 4 bad throws and 3 int's that werent, 1 cause of a penalty and 2 because our secondary cant catch a cold

u can blame the DL for alot of things but not in this game. maybe for the running game the lions had but that passing attack was all secondary letting the lions get open on them corssing routes. thats all they threw today.

if u cant cover for 3 seconds theres a problem with ur secondary not the dl

Mostly played a 4-3, but when your line backers can't cover more than a half second, and your Corners refuse to bump and run and gives up easy slants and quick in's, you can forget the pass rush.

Some times, Kitna would drop back and throw the ball within like 1 or 2 seconds and complete it. Parcells tries to coach every single aspect of a players instead of letting the player do what he does and play the way he plays.

Dallas mostly played 4-3 or the nickel and then some 3-4. The breakdown is that we are not a good defense, regardless of scheme. We did stunt some out of the 4-3, which has been pretty rare for us this season. I still think we're better in a 3-4, but we need a LOLB to rush the passer when Ware has to drop back in coverage and Bradie James is killing the defense. I think if we can get a D-Coordinator worth his salt and improve at LOLB and where James plays, we'll be markedly better.

That seems about right to me, unfortunately.
